Damaged juki

Recommended Posts

Juki 1508 dropped while moving, the main shaft got pushed from right to left Approximately a quarter of an inch. Is there any way of fixing this?

the main shaft has lock collars on it.  they have to be loosen and everything repositioned to move all the op parts back to the original position.

Ouch. Sounds very much like a dead Juki to me. At the very least it will never be the same again. Who knows what got bent out of spec as the main shaft got forced sideways.

And if the main shaft got shifted, who knows what else is out of whack? Sounds like it would need to be at least partially disassembled, each connecting part inspected, replacement parts assessed, then reassembled and tuned.

If you're not a pro sewing machine mechanic, I'd imagine it's going to cost a good chunk to get it up and running again, but maybe never as good as it was.

Part it out on ebay?
