samNZJP Report post Posted October 21, 2018 Hi See the image below - was wondering how the green and blue pieces of leather are done inside these train pass cade cases. Sam
Rockoboy Report post Posted October 21, 2018 I think it would be difficult to know from just a single pic. Maybe it would be clearly evident if you could look inside the case. Maybe the backing piece is double thickness, one thickness of brown and one of blue glued rough side to rough side, then the front face glued on around 3 edges (one yellow/one green etc). Alternatively, maybe the blue or green piece is glued to the backing and just big enough to fill the window, then the front face is attached.
fredk Report post Posted October 21, 2018 As the coloured part has the same grained pattern I'd be thinking that the area showing [of the back piece ] has been dyed that colour and the window part glued over the rear piece
battlemunky Report post Posted October 21, 2018 I'm thinking that since the colors in the lid are the colors of the paint on the exteriors of the case that the blue and the green is paint. They likely painted a bit larger of an area that they knew would show through the window on the section on the inside and then painted the rest with the exterior colors they chose. My guess anyhow.
