Members lb61906 Posted February 9, 2019 Members Report Posted February 9, 2019 The needles that came with my Consew 1206rb are marked as "DPx17". Can you tell what that means in terms of style and size? I would like to get some leather point needles that can handle 138 thread (maybe 207) and allowed the thread to fill the holes nicely. Any recommendations? Thanks! Quote

Moderator Wizcrafts Posted February 9, 2019 Moderator Report Posted February 9, 2019 DPx17 = 135x17 = SY3355, which is a standard geometry walking foot machine round point needle. This system is used to sew cloth and vinyl, but not leather. The leather points are System 135x16 and are made in several different styles, including LL, LR, Di and S point. Each produces its own stitch line and appearance. Most sewing machines purchased off eBay, or from upholstery shops, or Craigslist sellers come with round point needles, for cloth. Quote
