Members tagfan Posted June 3, 2019 Members Report Posted June 3, 2019 (edited) So I don't skive the edges of my leather when constructing bags. Its not easy - but I wonder if it would look better and be easier to construct if I invested in a bell skiver? You can see the thickness in the pic. Its 4.5 oz veg tan - Edited June 3, 2019 by tagfan Quote
Members SolarLeatherMachines Posted June 3, 2019 Members Report Posted June 3, 2019 Yah. It would make a big difference. Even just taking off 25% of the thickness would sharpen the edges without losing too much strength. check out this video: Quote
Members tagfan Posted June 3, 2019 Author Members Report Posted June 3, 2019 Thanks Alexander. I figured this type of machine would help...doing it by hand would take hours. Quote
Members mdawson Posted June 4, 2019 Members Report Posted June 4, 2019 Personally I like the look as it is, each to their own :-) Quote
