NeilMott Report post Posted July 17, 2019 (edited) I've decided that I want to make straight looking stitches on my watch straps and I'm finding very few sources who make round punches. Wuta seems to be pretty well regarded. I've found two different products but am concerned about the long shipping time: https://smile.amazon.com/WUTA-Leather-Pricking-Chisel-Stitching/dp/B07TZDKDRS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=10X59WKS92ELN&keywords=round+stitching+chisel&qid=1563287258&s=gateway&sprefix=round+stitching+%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-3 https://smile.amazon.com/WUTA-Leather-Pricking-Chisel-Stitching/dp/B07TZDKDRS/ref=sr_1_3?crid=10X59WKS92ELN&keywords=round+stitching+chisel&qid=1563287258&s=gateway&sprefix=round+stitching+%2Caps%2C156&sr=8-3 I don't know if the cheaper one is actually suitable for watch straps as it's making holes rather than piercing the leather to make a smaller hole... More expensive are these KS round punches from RML https://www.rmleathersupply.com/collections/pricking-irons-chisels-awls/products/ks-blade-punch-round-dent-punch-pricking-irons?variant=8110891303032 Are there any other sources for round punches? fredk Report post Posted July 17, 2019 I bought a couple sets like these. I got 4mm spacing and 6mm spacing. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3x-Tool-Leather-Carving-Hole-Craft-Prong-Stitching-Punching-Punches-Tool-4mm/283327622900?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649 I've only used them a few times but they work fine
NeilMott Report post Posted July 17, 2019 I guess I'm wondering/thinking that the tools like that when they go into the leather, they'll make a really big hole. I'll need to punch through 4-6mm of leather... The other chisel will leave a smaller hole?
