LW member Constabulary has kindly advised that this could be a aftermarket part, so keep this in mind just in case.

Maybe he noticed that it says "Singer" instead of "Simanco"?

Hi there CD, yes that could be a good topic, are Singer marked parts from Singer or not?? I have a couple marked Singer but with also Great Britain stamped alongside. The majority of the parts i have seen up until now say Simanco, it would probably depend on where they were made?? The older 29k´s were stamped Simanco but the newer 29k171 were stamped with Singer Great Britain (I have not checked all the parts on the 171), and some parts from Germany were stamped Singer Made in Germany??
