Consew 206rb -1 sewing edge guide

Recommended Posts

Just got a Consew 206rb machine. Wanting to install a edge guide on it. I would like to put the following on it. It would Require drilling and threading a couple of holes on the back of machine. Not real comfortable doing this. Has anyone else done this to their machine. Pictures  and explanation of the steps would be greatly appreciated. If this is a no no please advise. Thanks

I think LW member UWe has a video showing how this is installed. It is not very difficult, just drill and tap 2 holes at the back, make sure you do not obstruct the foot lifter at the back before drilling the holes.

If you get screws with it, find out their size and pitch, then buy a matching tap and pilot drill bit.

Thanks . I can handle drilling and tapping holes ok. Just wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to damage something inside the machine doing this. Course if the metal is thick enough for a blind hole it shouldn’t be a problem.

Sorry to intrude on your thread, but have you found this fold away model superior to the old fashioned screw to the bed models (Fixed & fold out of the way)?

Yes I do prefer the fold away type.  It’s just seems simple to use and it’s always setting right there when you need it.
