This will be the stupidest question you’ve ever answered.

Recommended Posts

Please help! I feel like a complete idiot!! I’m having trouble changing my needle on my 111w155. It’s so hard to get out! It feels stuck! I used pliers and got it out, slid a new one in pretty easy and now that one is stuck!!

HELP!!

Are you sure that you are using the correct needles ?

So long as the needles are correct then it is possible over the years that the metal thread that holds the screw for tightening the needle has stretched and extended. I Back the needle screw out and put the blunt side of a smaller size drill bit up in where the needle goes and feel for any lips/protrusions where the screw goes in. If it catches there then I would try and clean it out possibly by using a drill bit that fits in the hole without being overally tight and carefully spinning it with your fingers until any obstructions are removed. Do be careful not to break the drill bit in there as getting that out may be very difficult and involve a lot more work.

@Antonella It does sound like theres an obstruction, but,  maybe just double check your needle size. I have a similar machine  and the needles should just ' slide'  right in .

BTW, theres no such thing as a 'stupid question'  on here. The answer you'll get may save you a lot of frustration , and maybe $$  :)  This forum has helped me and so many others on countless occasions.

Welcome to the forum

I must say that I wouldn't have thought of Rocky Aussie's answer, but it does sound quite reasonable, I would try that

No question here is stupid or silly, that's what forums are for
