Shearling

Does anyone know of a source for saddle shearling in smaller quantities than whole hides? I need enough to pad about 3 guitar straps (4" wide x 12" long +/-).

If there is a saddle maker nearby they usually have left over pieces you could buy or sometimes they will give it to you

Where are you located?  I have bags and boxes full of scrap shearling from lining saddles.

you want orthopedic grade. waterhouse sells some, but its nap is 3/4 .  i'd go with roden with their hosp. grade http://www.rodenleathercompany.com/products/products.html

saddle leather is rough ,if that's what you want try Montana leather out of billings
