Would a singer 331K5 sew lightweight leather upto where my adler 105 can cover the heavier ones?

Recommended Posts

I was wondering when the 105 first went into production and when it stopped? I also can't seem to find a serial No. on mine

Any help checking the age of my machine would be greatly appreaciated

331K5 I believe is for sewing apparel  if I am not mistaken.  You may need a heavier machine for light leather.

We used to sell these for doing car upholstery yrs ago, they will sew up to 6 layers of vinyl so yes,it would handle thinner leather up to 5/16".It has a spring loaded walking foot that will make it feed better than a Singer 31-15.Alot of the common parts from the 31-15 fit this model like the bobbins, bobbincase & shuttle.

Hi Glen, Bob,

Thanks for the help I knew it would sew car upholstery that's what it was bought for I didn't noif it would handle leather

I'd better get bidding as it's up to the dizzying heights of £34 it looks like it's been stored outside in a leaky shed it's covered in surface rust

many thanks

Conrad
