Members Handmadewhips Posted October 16, 2019 Members Report Posted October 16, 2019 Hello All I spend a lot of time lurking and I'ts been a wile since I posted anything here so I thought I would share this. This Wood Handled Bullwhip was one of the whips I made for the documentary series History In The Making. It’s a 6ft 16plait bullwhip in brandy and featuring a 10 inch rosewood handle. This piece was the whip that was shown being braided during the shoot. The Hero Whip was the whip that was shown completed at the end of the segment. Thanx Skip Quote

Members Alisdair Posted October 17, 2019 Members Report Posted October 17, 2019 Beautiful... I'm currently getting into plaiting, but have a long way to go still to get to that level. Is that kangaroo, or some other leather? Quote
CFM Frodo Posted October 17, 2019 CFM Report Posted October 17, 2019 NICE work I have been making whips using gutted para cord for over a year I think it is time to switch to leather any pointers would be appreciated Quote
Contributing Member JLSleather Posted October 17, 2019 Contributing Member Report Posted October 17, 2019 Fascinating! I still think I can teach a MONKEY to tool leather, but that braiding is an ART. VERY nice. Quote

The best advice I could give is to just start braiding. I started with cow hide and latigo. Quote
