hpz Report post Posted March 28, 2020 Hi, I'm the owner of a pfaff 1245 706/47 and I have some troubles with the feed dog. It is not moving vertically (up and down). That causes troubles for sewing materials with precision. I've read the adjustment manual but the part that is recomended to adjust is not on my machine. So I really don't know how to process. Please see the video to have a better understanding of my problem. I also put the serial number, an extract of the adjustment manual and the photo of the mechanism of my machine. Ask me questions if you want more informations I would be happy to answer them. Thank you for your help.
shoepatcher Report post Posted March 28, 2020 HPZ, You may have one that does not have 4 motion drop feed. That call it a skip feed. Used a lot on machines set up for binding. If it had a brass plate on the front like the older models, it would be easier to determine. Notice in the manual on the adjustment sheet you sent in parenthesis, "only with machines with P". P was the symbol for 4 motion drop feed. There is an adjustment for raising the feed dog underneath. glenn

dikman Report post Posted March 28, 2020 I agree. If the adjustment parts aren't there then it's obviously a 2-motion feed only.
hpz Report post Posted April 4, 2020 Hi, I put a photo with the brass plate where there is the serial number and I can't see the letter "P" so I think my machine doesn't have a verticale motion for the feed dog. This is uncommon for me for an industrial machine because all the other machines I've ever seen have a vertical movement of the feed this is why I feel this is strange. Thanks for your help.
