At least I think that's what I bought :) listed as "antique clamp", I figured for $20 (Canadian mind you...) How could a guy go wrong. All the screws turn, it clamps down, neat conversion peice if nothing else. There's even a plate on the bottom to keep the screw from digging into the bench. Gotta be old, any guesses? Thought I'd share.

Good day,

It is very beautiful antique tool but it is not a stitching pony, it is an antique hand saw sharpening vise.
You can still use it exactly as a stitching pony with some little modification on the jaws.

Awesome! Thanks for the info. I already have a modern pony so I'll leave this one as is and user it for a display of some kind. Many thanks!

You will probably get away with putting a bit leather over the jaws to stop them marking the leather.   Not only is it very nice, but looks very useful.
