TaintedPepper Report post Posted May 4, 2020 Hello! This is my first post but not my first visit to this site. Because of all the wonderful advice, I bought a used Pfaff 145. It sews wonderfully (although need to get a servo motor and speed reducer), but my question is, I realized it is missing the thread guide pin on top of the machine (see bottom right photo). It has been sewing fine but I also have only been practicing with it. I have been trying to find the part but having difficulty. I found a universal one on Sailrite's site but I don't think it will fit, but it also looks like something may have broken off in the hole (see left image) but seems unlikely that could happen?? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Should I not worry about it...is this part generally specific to each brand/model? Kim

jimi Report post Posted May 4, 2020 Hi, If it is broken inside then you will have to get a small drill and drill a hole in the middle of the broken part, then either hammer in a small blade screwdriver in the hole and screw it out or use a screw extractor. It is a delicate job because if you hit the outer wall you will ruin the original thread. Saying that if you get to that stage then you could just tap it again with another thread used on other generic thread guides. If the broken part is loose, then super glue a small stick to it and try to screw it out? https://www.ebay.de/itm/Pfaff-141-145-Fadenstift-Fadenfuhrung-oben-9075/303543015212?hash=item46ac92d72c:g:UFYAAOSw3e5embf8
