catskin Report post Posted January 31, 2021 (edited) Just wondering if anyone has put a servo motor on a BUSM / peirson # 6 machine? Did a search and no luck. Edited January 31, 2021 by catskin spelling

Constabulary Report post Posted February 3, 2021 I once owned a BUSMC / DVSG #6HM and played with the idea of motorizing it (actually never did) I talked to LW Member SINGERMANIA back then and he said you can add a servo. But to be honest I personally would go with a clutch motor because the machine flywheel is quite heavy and the servos only have an electronic brake whereas the clutch motors have large mechanical brake. I think the clutch motor brakes are more durable and may last longer in the long view. But that's just my opinion.
catskin Report post Posted February 3, 2021 I actually have a clutch motor on it. But have not sorted out how to make a convenient lever for engaging it. With my speed reducer it goes at a reasonable speed. Just thought the variable speeds with a servo would be nice. I would add a picture but seems the one picture I posted a long time ago took up all my allowance.
