How do you do a welted toe on a moccasin, instead of just the regular toe, where the stitching shows?

i cant find the link to the pdf book i have but if you google Sioux moccasin pattern you will get what you need. it has hidden stitching all around. Its amazing the different styles and patterns Indians used some are so easy and end up really nice. The apache for example had a toe piece sewn in that was made out of rawhide to protect against the cactus.

Not quite what I'm looking for, but I did find a video, which unfortunately, cut out just as it was getting interesting. You cut a half inch strip of leather, and all the sewing is done in that strip, so nothing shows on the outside.

I've subscribed to her channel, and hopefully will be able to see all of the steps for sewing the moccasin together.

Oh yea, here's where she gets into sewing the welt.

Someone needs to tell her a welp is what you find in the whelping box, when you're dog has had puppies...

Sorry, I'm a dog person, so had to say that!
