Saddle Discoloration Fix

Recommended Posts

Yes, looks like mildew. Try oxalic acid in an inconspicuous area. It WILL remove mildew stains but it may well remove the color as well.

If it is, it'll have to be restuffed as well.

You can just put down to use and you will always know its your saddle,  time and cleaning will help out eventually, but if you want it perfect maybe the best fix is to get it reseated if you have someone nearby can do this for you.

Hope this helps

Thanks everyone. I am in central Kentucky and it was stored covered in a tack room, but the humidity got high in there. I suspect you are correct about the mildew. I purchased another saddle and want to sell this one. It sounds like my best bet will probably get it re-seated.
