Members Ouchy Posted February 28, 2021 Members Report Posted February 28, 2021 I just purchased a 1 pound tube of this material and I'm wondering if it is best worked by breaking it down into 2 ply or 3 ply lengths. I make small to medium knife sheaths, hand sewn. Quote
CFM tsunkasapa Posted February 28, 2021 CFM Report Posted February 28, 2021 I have never split thread down, but 6 ply seems far to heavy for the projects you describe. You have nothing to lose by trying. Quote Hoka Hey! Today, tomorrow, next week, what does it matter?
Contributing Member fredk Posted February 28, 2021 Contributing Member Report Posted February 28, 2021 From my experience of trying to split heavy thread down - it ain't worth the effort. I could never get any but a good few inches even. I just keep it for where the heavy thick thread is useful. Good thread that I buy is only a few cents/pence per yard, my time is worth more even though I'm a cheappy per hour type Quote Al speling misteaks aer all mi own werk..
