Members john2k Posted April 29, 2021 Members Report Posted April 29, 2021 Hi, I'm new on here. I'm doing a few DIY projects involving real leather and faux leather. I have a brass stamp that I use with a G clamp to stamp on the real leather and it works well. My question is in regards to the faux leather, is there a different technique to stamp faux leather? If i try and stamp with my the same technique will it rip the faux leather? Thanks Quote
Moderator Wizcrafts Posted April 29, 2021 Moderator Report Posted April 29, 2021 John; I am moving your post to the section called "How Do I Do That?" You will get better answers there. Also, this particular section is bad for discussions because all posts must await a moderator's approval before they become visible. Quote
Northmount Posted April 29, 2021 Report Posted April 29, 2021 Faux leathers are some sort of plastic/vinyl and will not likely behave like you expect leather to. Even veg tan versus chrome doesn't stamp the same way. Hot foil stamping should work for faux junk. Quote
Members Tugadude Posted April 29, 2021 Members Report Posted April 29, 2021 I found this video interesting. The same technique may work well on the faux leather you intend to use. Quote
