Pfaff 145 – 545 and Cowboy Questions

These two Pfaffs are for sale semi locally 150 miles away.

The asking price for the 145 is $750 and $850 for the 545.

Naturally they have crappy pictures of the machines. As do all Craigs list pictures.

The 145

The 545

What are the differences in the two models?

Are these prices reasonable?

What should I be aware of as possible problems with these Pfaffs?

There is also a Cowboy cylinder arm machine with an asking price of $2100.

Claims to be essentially brand new. Naturally they don’t list a model number.

To me, it doesn't seem to match any of the current Cowboy machines exactly. But I’m guessing it’s an older version of the 3200(?)

Thoughts on this one?

Of course a question or two to the seller would clear that up.

Just wanted to take advantage of all the helpful folk here to see if any of these were worth perusing.

Thank You,

All the Best,

Jeff

I does look like an early version of the CB3200. The digital motor goes back to before the Family Sew motors were being shipped with the machines. You might want to check the price of a brand new one first. ;-)

Wiz,

As always you are a great help.  I did indeed check a new price.  For a few hundred bucks more - new in the box with warranty.

All three seem overpriced to me.

Thanks, Jeff

I think the Pfaff while a great machine, is worth about $400 as it sits in your photos.

I guess people by Chinese machines out of necessity (Not many/any choices these days in harness stitchers).

I wouldn't touch a Chinese made machine if it were given to me and to buy one new, not a chance.

Other than poor quality,  dumping tactics, commercial espionage, patent violations galore, human rights abuses (commies love to shoot people) and funding the PLA and PLAN to wage future wars against us....How about a little pride of ownership?

Lets all stop feeding the Dragon.

That  Dragon is made up of millions of small people like you and me, each tying to earn a buck. they did not elect the government, it is forced upon them. some of the goods are poor quality, Most are high quality with good quality control. buy the chap version and you may well get stung, buy the middle price version and you should be very happy.  Same with many products from anywhere around the world

In cases where people are asking wayyyyy high prices, I send similarly ridiculous lowball offers. There are no rules in buying and selling lol.
