I rescued this beautiful machine from rusting in a shed but I can't find anything about its specific model online. Its missing the bobbin and its housing? It needs a lot of work removing rust and getting everything moving again but worth it in the end.

Also has anyone any idea how rare this machine is?

I once restored the short arm version of your machine (kind of) - a 133K3. Not exactly the same in short but very close as it seems. Pictures here may give you and idea what parts are missing on your machine:

Oh - BTW - just yesterday some one else posted his 133K darning machine - he probably would sell you some parts (guessing) - check this:

Furthermore College Sewing in the UK has a good range of parts for the 133K / 132K but seems they have a website problem.

@Constabulary I should have just messaged you directly, thank you so much for that info. I think the parts missing are circled in the photo. I will check that website soon.

It would be a shame to break up a full machine for parts , darning or not.

Don´t know where you come from but beside College Sewing Trojan Sewing UK has parts too:

https://www.trojansewing.co.uk/product-category/industrial-sewing-machine-spare-parts/singer-industrial-sewing-machine-parts/singer-132-k-industrial-sewing-machie-parts/

You need the top and main tension units some thread guides too and a bobbin winder. Just what I notice from the picture.

BTW - the Seiko SK-8 and Mitsubushi DY-253 share a lot of parts with the Singer 132K / 133K machines - just as a hint when looking for parts.

Once you have completed it you may need timing values for the needle-hook timing - you find a good manual for the 132K / Seiko SK-8 here in the 1st post  (values are the same as for the 133K´s)

My post disappeared. Wonder if mods removed it. Or maybe that's the answer to my disappeared thread: they just vanish for no reason. Wondering.

I'm based in northern Ireland so UK is a good source for me.

Yes, I proof-read it after having seen it posted.

Basically, I wrote that the unit is missing more parts than just the shuttle hook and bobbin and provided a Youtube link for reference.

not sure why but my model doesn't have holes for tension discs or or a slot for a take up lever on the front or back, a real head scratcher.

That indeed is interesting.... Well its an SV machine - very little to nothing is known about certain SV models, some are predecessors of later standard machines and some are kinda prototype or made for a special customer application.... no one really knows em all. Maybe yours had tension units positioned somewhere else. Right - no slot for the take up lever - very odd.

Can you post a picture of what is behind the face plate please.

EDIT:

Just a guess - no hook, no tension units, no take up lever - was this machine for what ever reason meant for just punching holes into... what ever????

I only can imagine a "hole puncher" - but don´t ask me for what purpose. I really have no clue.

Is there a drive shaft for mounting the hook?

I have ordered a parts list online for 133ks but I'm wondering why model has no mention online. I'm going to email the museum in Scotland to see if they have any notion. I might have to make the holes myself for tension discs. I don't know but I will keep you posted.

That machine is rare.  It is a long arm 133K.

You might contact Robert Collier for parts at Collier Equipment in Alabama.

It's a hole puncher, you have to drill a hole to insert the lower tension & drill & tap a hole for the upper tension.Take-up lever is missing too.Parts for this if you can find them will be expensive.
