Members Pappys Leather Posted March 8, 2022 Members Report Posted March 8, 2022 When applying antique dye on belt how do you keep it from getting on the back of the belt? Or do you also dye the back? Quote
Contributing Member fredk Posted March 8, 2022 Contributing Member Report Posted March 8, 2022 I always dye the back of the belt the same colour as the front. Its the accepted here Quote
Members GatoGordo Posted March 9, 2022 Members Report Posted March 9, 2022 I just finished a belt last weekend. What I did was to cut the belt, tape the back, stamp, dye, resist, antique, and resist. At this point, I removed the tape, glued on the back of the belt, and finally stitched the two together. I now have a belt with a nice looking outside, while the inside has no dye and no chance of staining my pants. Quote
Members Handstitched Posted March 9, 2022 Members Report Posted March 9, 2022 I always dye the back as well as the top. I use a sealer that doesn't allow the dye from getting onto the clothing. HS Quote
