New Bike

Recommended Posts

Went out this past weekend and took the plunge on an HD. Ended up picking up a 2004 Dyna Low Rider with 8500 miles on it, and a bunch of after-market add-ons (especially like them pipes). Here's a couple of pics:

I find myself chomping at the bit to get out of the shop and take a ride. ;D So if you all happen to call the shop and catch the voice mail...well...you get the picture. 8-) I'll be back...eventually....

Mighty fine ride! I reckon I'll just sit up here in the cold, Northern part of the state and turn green with envy.

At least my four-wheeler won't fall over with me.

The only place I know of that we even HAVE rocks is out on the jetties at Panama City Beach. Beyond that, we're just one big sandbox. :bike:

(Well, I guess this is your new baby, just a different kind of one!) B)

I feel better already after reading that - I'm not a Harley fan either. I guess at least TWO of us are gonna get scolded...My Dad always had a Honda.

Like you I prefer the "crotch rockets".

Dave, go sit in the corner. Only a geek would read that as "hard drive". * sigh I've told you over and over that these folks have sharp knives and big hammers, and will use them. Don't start a riot- people will be mailing me floggers with your name on them.

Harleys have more to do with attitude than anything else, which is why they are so much fun for us leatherworkers. Many of us looked at the bike and mentally superimposed the leather Kevin would want for himself, his old lady and the bike. We all processed a picture of Kevin, armed to the teeth, on a Harley, with the wind in his hair, and sighed because we are driving the family SUV today, and there is no wild party for us tonight by the bonfire with Bob Seger, Allman Bros. & Lynyrd Skynyrd in the background.

I'll skip the crotch rockets. Someone pass the aspirin.

HD = hard drive? You've been riding the wrong machine for way too long, my friend.

I've been riding it every chance I get over the last few days. It rides very smooth, hardly any vibration. Got soaked in the rain yesterday - that was after a 10% chance of rain forecast.

Yep, I've decided we've got to do something different with the saddle bags. They're kind of plain looking right now. Want to get rid of the HD logo on the tank, too - looks kind of cheesy to me. So we'll slowly do upgrades/changes over the next few months.

Going to take the current seat and use it as a test model to do a new seat cover. Have a couple of ideas in that respect, and one in particular to deal with concealed carry.
