Hello folks. New here, just thought I'd say hello. My name is Cody, I've been doing leatherwork for about three years now, getting better every project. I've worked with Tandy leather in Tempe, AZ for almost all three of those years... and it's been a great experience, I've had the opprotunities to work with some of the best in the world... Man I love this art! In terms of what I do, I'm pretty broad-based. I like to dabble in a little of everything, and take on different projects. Anyways, been looking for a group like this for a while. Thanks for having me!

Just popping in to introduce myself. My name is Noel, my nickname is Hoyden. I live in the northeast. I work for an advertising agency, but HATE the media. My hobbies are Renaissance Faires, sewing, leatherworking, gardening and my dogs. I just started working with leather this year in January. I started making decorative sturdy nylon dog collars for large breed dogs last year and decided that I wanted make leather collars too. Needless to say - I'm in love with leather. I love carving leather. I am still experimenting and learning and I'm very eager to learn more. Here are a few of the things that I've done, please feel free to point out things that need work …

Hey. I am Joel. I am from Birmingham, Alabama. I have been working with leather off and on for a little while. I did a few things while growing up, but have recently, about the start of the year, started getting serious about it. I heard about this place from Dave Anderson. I have looked around a little bit and I like what I see. I hope I can contribute, and I know I will learn alot. Joel.

Hello, I just found this board by surving and looking for some leather info and found this nice forum. I allways liked leather but didn't even knew of the existence of leathercarving 2 years ago. It happened that I was working on a lodge in british columbia as a helping hand for the whole summerseason. I visited Prince George where I found a Tandy leather suplier. I bought a starter kit for leathercarving and there everything started. Since I had no luck in getting a apprenticeship in saddlemaking here in Europe or even Canada I started to educate myself in leather craft, although I also visited a course of Rene Berends once. Since a half year, I'm nea…

Hello everyone, I'm Shayne. I don't do leather but my husband does. He can't join this forum right now as he is unfortunatly incarcerated He does beautiful work and will continue his work when he comes home, hopefully soon. So I'm just lurking around here to get ideas, or whatever may come, for him. He's mostly into making Mandellas, but also makes clutch purses, wallets, belts...anything but shoes and boots. Thanks for inviting me Johanna! I'll try to keep my feet off the furniture.

Hello from Texas! I have been doing leatherwork since I was about 13 ranging from building my own tack (spur straps, headstalls etc), to holsters (one of which I carry daily) and money clips, all the way to building my pair of chinks. I am just now getting more into carving small items, but have yet to do any floral designs. I am currently working on a purse for my fiance who is the love of my life. I look forward to learning more about this great hobby and hope that the forum explodes with information. Tyson

Hello, Blaze here, finally got back here to check this out. Somebody put a lot of work into this and it shows. I really like it. I am a member of IILG also, I have been working leather in one way or another since I was twelve years old. That was a long, long time ago. I started carving leather back in 1972 after an OUI, was (homebound), and taught myself a lot of bad habits. I found the IILG a few years back and everyone has been a big help. Got to see lots of others work which helped a lot also. I have had four shops over the years. Happy to be here, Blaze
