Hey Everyone, a few years back I purchased a brand new Seiko CH-8B and I hardly used it, long story short my divorce shut down my business and this beautiful sewing machine just sits in my shop collecting dust because I had to go out and get a regular job. I think there has been only about 10lbs of thread run thru this sewing machine and it is a shame that it just sits here, it has a flatbed attachment on it (which comes off easily) and in all I spent over $6000.00 on this and I am going to sell it to someone that could actually use it. PM me if you are interested or you can call me at the number listed below.

I bought this machine as a specialty machine to handle any/all my heavy work. I have used less then 2 pounds of thread thru this machine since I purchased it. Since I have taken on my new job I have not had the time to continue taking on any heavy work that I would need this machine for and it has been just sitting in my shop. This is a shame that such a beautifully working machine is just sitting there so I would like to offer this machine for sale to someone that will actully use it. I have included a spec sheet for my Seiko CH-8B so you can see the actual factory specs for the machine. This machine brand new retails for over $5800.00 but I am offering it for $4500.00 (Plus Shipping/Packaging Costs) I am offering the head, Stand with motor, Flatbed table attachment, extra bobbins and what ever thread spools, oil, & tools I have left for this machine. Once again I want to remind you that there has been less then 2 pounds of thread thru this machine!! Anyone that is seriously interested or has a serious offer is more then welcome to call me on my cell or you can call the shop and leave a message. Respectfully, Jim Civitello Civitello & Sons 203-586-3008 - Shop 203-228-9122 - Cell

sole repair
jcivitello replied to stockyardjohnnyred's topic in Shoes, Boots, Sandals and Moccassins
Most shoes and boots of quality that have a stitched on sole use whats called a leather welt, the welt is a small piece of leather that is stitched onto the upper part of the boot durring construction, then when you marry the upper to the sole you stitch the sole to the welt and thats the stitch line you are seeing around the outside edge of the sole. Here is a youtube video on the construction of a cowby boot from Boulet Boots (which is the #2 boot maker) and maybe this might help you by seeing how they are made new. Let me know if this helps any. Hope that helps Jim -
Yeah I watch ebay alot but I just figured I throw this out there.....never know who might have something.

Hey Everyone, I just bought a new machine it's a Seiko CH-8B Harness machine and I LOVE this machine. My dad still uses his 1878 Campbell Bosworth which is the machine I grew up & learned on but with having 2 different shops we work out of we needed a 2nd machine so my question is does anyone have an opinion on the Seiko CH-8B, did I make a mistake by not buying a 2nd Campbell? Has anyone owned or used the Seiko CH-8B??

That was the first thing I noticed when I seen the site this morning, it's the PHP scripting code that displays date & Time but for some reason it's posting the code instead of the date & Time......Johanna you need to check with IP Board on this issue.......other then that the site looks GREAT!!!

best product for cleaning tack?
jcivitello replied to wildrose's topic in General Saddlery Discussion
If the tack is extremly dirty you should first use the lexol cleaner to wash it........let it dry and then use a mixture of the lexol conditioner and Yellow Saddle Soap...I prefer Fiebings! -
Hi, My name is Jim and I'm a 4th generation leather worker, I got my dad to sign up last night as well seeing how we've been looking for a site like this for a long time!! Our history dates back to Italy where my Great Grand parents made & repairs fine Italian shoes and other types of fine leather products. My Father took the business into the Harness and Saddlery aspect of the leather industry over 60 years ago. We still make men's & Ladies leather belts and other leather accessories to stay firmly planted in our family history but the main portion of the business these days is still harness & Saddle repairs as well as a complete strap goods manufacturing and repair service. I hope to make some new friends here that have the same interest as we do as well as sharing some knowledge and possibly gaining some work at the same time. About my Avatar, That's my dad with our Belgium Draft Horse "Mighty Sampson" at the time he was the Largest Horse in the World. His weight was approx 3400lbs and he stood a gigantic 21 hands tall. My dad turned down many offers to put Sampson on display because he felt that it was cruel to lock him in a trailer and drag him around the country, he was our baby…he was part of the family! The Harness he is wearing is one that my dad made and the collar had to be custom made because of its enormous size. I was only about 8 years old when we got him but I was the one that had the responsibility of taking care of this gentle giant, it was a sight to see this little boy of 8 years old walking and exercising this massive horse. When we lost Sampson to a rare disease particular to Large Daft horses I felt like I lost my best friend!

Hi, Can I ask where on the east coast you are, we are right in Connecticut and are 4 generations strong in the Harness & Saddle industry. I wish I could tell you how many saddles we have rebuilt but who could count that high, Please feel free to either email me or you can call my shop at the number listed below.

I have a Pfaff 545-H4 that I am willing to sell, this machine works great but it is a back-up machine and I'm running out of room here in my shop. The Table is a universal Singer Table and the motor is Brand New (less then 10 hours) This table has a foot lift instead of a knee lift so it is a bit hard to lift the foot using the pedal so I just use the lift lever on the back side of the machine for the few times that I use the machine. This machine is a steal at $600.00!!! (plus the cost of frieght) I've attatched a photo here but if you want to see more photos please email me and I will send more or you can simply call the shop any day. Thanks
