Hi, I'm looking for a leather holder. It's a tool mounted to the end of a workbench, to hold a hide in place while straps are being cut with a draw gauge. See attached files. Don't know who still makes leather holders. I want one, but don't know where to get. I just missed one on eBay.... Anyone ever uses this kind of device? Thanks, Chris

Hello, I have few questions about choosing punches while making a belt. Hope you guys give me some advices. 1) What size of round drive punch is used on heavy leather belt. I read a article of Verlane who suggests to use oval drive punch on heavy leather belt/strap. Is there any differences between round and oval holes on heavy leather belt? If it's better to use a oval drive punch, what size will you recommend? 2) What sizes of bag/oblong punches will you use on the belt? based on... ? 3) Is it correct to use a 2" English point strap end punch on a 1 1/2" belt? Or the strap end punch size should be the same as the belt? Thanks in advance! Chris

Hi guys, I'm going to order some tools from Robert Beard, so I wrote to ask if the black maul is still available incidentally. Of course, they don't. They told me that they discontinue making mauls because of the material cost skyrocketed. So, I was wondering if anyone could convince Bob to make some on special order. My plan is who is willing to buy Bob Beard's black maul, reply here with your maul weight. After awhile, like 10 days, we elect one guy who is willing to buy to give Robert Beard tool a call. Don't know if it could work?? btw, sorry for my poor English, I hope that you guys can understand what I'm talking about. Thank you guys. I found that most leather workers in Taiwan using adj. creasers to creat sewing line. Maybe most leather workers here are just making simple small projects,like wallet, cash holder or something, so don't have many chances to create tight cure. The light color handle adj. creaser as attached is what we use in creating sewing line here in Taiwan. The rosewood handle adj. creaser is the old CSO I have. I think I'll get a 6" divider from Jeremiah Watt. It looks like the old CSO. Thank you guys~
