... hee hee I figured it out about 5 minutes after I posted. So now I have another analogy. If the blade/knife fits in the sheath snugly, then it that it would require both hands to withdraw the knife from the sheath. ? I haven't made anything in the last two years. The cost of leather now days is out of my budget. Leather is just too expensive now. I was only a hobbyist, making stuff for myself. I made a lot of holsters, belts, sheaths and tote bags for hiking. I would like to see some of your other eye candy. Again, great job ! Recently I've began a new hobby. I'm buying plate high carbon steel to make knife blades. Creating my own blades via tempering the steel in a home brew forge, so on and so forth. I do have a little of excess leather on hand so I'll be able to make knife blades, handles and sheath. The complete package.

Is there any way to remove red ink from marking lines. I've tried a few different things but nothing works yet. The project that I'm working on now - I don't want to color/dye it.

USP is a toss of the coin here as to where they will make a delivery or not. For instance I get two orders (no problems). Third Order the item get send back because of an exception... can't find customer. They have cell phones and computers, wonder why they don't call into HQ or the customer at the very least.

Latest Project - Shoulder holster

That looks good. I've been thinking of making the attempt myself. Let us know how it performs while carrying those hog legs. If you want a better critique though send it to me . Nice Job ! -
Wow... is all that I can say. I was almost ready to move on as this TH stuff was about to beat me, I sure had one heck of a time. I have no books, I just kept watching videos over and over and over again... Now perhaps its coming together. My first success was the TH on the factory mallet. Then I tried a 3 pass 16L3B TH on the homemade ( ex firewood ) mallet. The needle I made from a broken bore cleaning rod. Now, maybe I can start getting into the physics part of the Turkshead.

I'm looking for a Chevy or Chevrolet 2/3d Stamp, perhaps even Dodge or Ford. I saw a belt a couple of weeks ago that had the Chevy Plus sign insignia on it, so I thought I might search for one. I'm only a ( just getting started) want-a-bee hobbyist that enjoys making things for myself, friends & family. Thanks !

Hello all, I've recently been bitten by the bug and I'm having lots... of fun. Here is my second holster in as many weeks, this one a little better than the one I made for a 45 auto. Here is one of my concerns. Notice the bruising effect/dark spotting on the holster, whats causing this? Here is a quick overview of my process: Wet leather, place oiled revolver in plastic bag, wrap leather around the gun and start molding. After finger massaging the lines for a while I placed the whole thing into a Seal-a-meal bag, then sealed it for a couple hours, again massaging the lines and such. After and hour or two I removed the gun from the sealed bag and hung the leather to dry over night. Then dyed, then stitched. This consumed three evenings, maybe 20 hrs all in all. I wished that I had had black lacing cord on hand but i used what I had available and I could not wait to order some Being a noob and all, I was trying a couple different molding techniques, then came up with the seal-a-bit. Anyway and a gain, my main question at this time, is why the bruising or spotting after dying? The leather was not blemished beforehand. ETA: and no, its for the proper hand Tks

Hello to all, I guess its about time that I make my first post. I've been lurking for a few weeks now. I made my first trip to the nearest Tandy store a couple weeks ago (3 hour drive - one way ), and just today received my first Mail Order from them. I'm starting to get a few tools together so now I'm stocked up on various leather and hardware etc.. In the mean time I've been making a few things such as Key Holders w/ 4-5 " straps for some family members. Being a lefty I attempted to make my first CCW holster for s Sig 220. Sometimes when I look at it, its not too ugly and then there are times that its real ugly. I don't know what you call them but I also made a wrap around for the butt stock of my Marlin 1894c, I also made a repair to an old holster that I bought this past summer for 10 bucks. It looks pretty good now. Anyway, I've got the bug and plan on making more lefty ccw holsters, etc for myself. The first one did turn out better than I expected. Although it doesn't look that great it will serve its purpose rather well, in fact it really holds the pistol nice, close and snug. For that alone I'm pleased overall. As for a little history, I have no experience, artistic skills at all nor can I draw. My interests are to only make things for myself and the immediate family. I'm really in to shooting and reloading so I plan on accessorising and dressing things up bit around here. The only down side of things is starting up a new hobby. At least leather working and the shooting arena complement one another. I think my next project is going to be an ammo belt. I would actually like to make a ccw hoster for a Glock 26 but its in layaway now. If I only had g-26 Blue Gun I would start on it tonight I'll be hanging around and drooling over your beautiful work. I'm really amazed at the talent being displayed around here. I hope the smallest bit rubs off in my direction. BCNU
