Hello All,
I recently purchased a Singer 29K60 machine and am hoping someone here can shed a bit of light on something that is happening with mine.
I have essentially had the whole machine apart, replaced worn drivers and gears in the gearbox, machine has new bearings in the cams etc. The machine itself seems to be working fine now and the stitching seems good.
The concern I have is with the shuttle/hook, as the machines needle is in it's up-cycle, pulling thread from the bobbin, the shuttle with the bobbin jumps, or appears to get lifted to the point where it hits the needle plate. This seems odd to me, the movement seems too much. I have posted a link here to a short video where you can see this jumping happening pretty clearly. Does this happen on your large bobbin machines, if not any suggestions what might be the cause?

I have had a look at some small bobbin 29K machines where this certainly isn't happening, but the large bobbin pulls the thread through a small loop in the center of the shuttle, which in my opinion is more likely to cause this lifting.
Any feedback would be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Will
