Studio Apocalypse

A couple of photos. Not in great shape, but would be nice if I could get some use out of it.

I just inherited a hair on horse hide that's 60+ years old and has probably spent the last 40 years in storage somewhere. What are some ways that I can clean up and preserve the hair side? The hair is 2 to 5 inches in length, and has been vacuumed gently. Hair feels dry to the touch. What would you use on the flesh side to preserve it for another 60+ years? Has a fair amount of flexibility and folds without complaint or cracking, but very dry and brittle for about an inch in on the edges. Pictures to come.

The gear pattern on the shoulder pieces is a creative look, is it some type of stencil work?

What did you use to color the flames dye/paint? the gradient looks spot on!

Love the attention to detail on the hat, and arm muscles.

I'm not sure that takes away too much from the overall design. Right now it looks very organic, smoothing things out much more might take away some of the leafy feel. You might try making a button out of a small stick piece, it might work well with your design.
