  2. Caroline go to www.thcc.com There are people who might be able to get you in touch with someone there who makes boots. If you can't find anyone email me and I will do some more checking. fnecustomboots@netzero.net
  3. Thank you Crystal, I think your swan looks fantastic. I like birds. There are only 8 roows of stitching or may 10, can't remember. I will post some with 15 and 18 rows later. Paul it is nice to have another bootmaker here. I have seen pics of yours before and you do really nice work, entering the contest in Colorado and Wyoming again? Those rough outs are for ranch work and the owner is on top of keeping them clean.
  4. Did you know you are very good? Thought I'd let you know incase no one told you.
  5. I don't know if this would work 100 per cent. Meltonian shoe creme company makes a clear gel called Delicate. If you apply this to your leather before you rewet it it may prevent discoloration. If not it will condition and give it a great shine. I like what you did and your design, you will only get better as you work.
  6. Thank you Bonnie. Found some more. Classes are offered. Sorry about the quality of the pics, I am not a photographer.

  8. Those are real eye catchers. Knowing Carl they are built well. Good job. Are you building for others or just for yourself?
  9. For those interested in western boot classes and would like to come to Montana. Classes are offered at Frank English Custom Boots, Ronan Mt. I have been making boots for about 12 years. Only 1 or 2 people/class. You will make a pair of boots for yourself during a 2 week class. For more information email me at fnecustomboots@netzero.net. That is FNE for the first 3 letters.
  10. If you go to dimlights.com you will find a section of instructional books. There isn't always a complete step by step to the books. Alot of them are used to follow a class. The book you would look for is written by McKinney.
  11. If you are interested in visiting Montana, bootmaking classes are held at Frank English Custom Boots. The shop is in Ronan, Montana, northwest part of the state. You can email FNEcustomboots@netzero.net or call 406-676-0088. This would be a 2 week 12 hour/day class. You will build one pair of boots. For people close by classes can be altered to fit your circumstances. Frank English
  12. My mistake. The ebay store is haleandco . Don't know when his new site will be up.
  13. The name of the ebay store is Hale and Co. Edwin is working on a new website. I would call him and ask about the old site. The prices are wrong on it. His number is in the previous reply to yours. Remember to call him and not order through ebay.
  14. Hello everyone, I saw the discussion about Barnsley tools. Edwin Hale is selling Barnsley tools through Hale and Company. He has been working with Colin Barnsley for the past 7 years to get these tools back on the market. He has very high standards when it comes to the trades. He grew up around bespoke trades in England and somehow found himself living in the U.S.. If you are looking for quality tools I would give him a call. You can view his Ebay store site but if you wish to make a purchase call him directly. 805-636-3087. He a very upstanding merchant, check his feedbacks on ebay. If you have questions about the tools purpose he will gladly tell you. He has a great deal of information, many of his friends are bespoke leather makers using traditional methods. Sorry about the length of this. bootsmt
