There are some people that still like to hold a book in their hand to read. This marker was made in 2016. Don't know why i still have it-Yea i do, it was for my Wife. I have some scraps -a lot- i am going to start redoing them again.
-
Thank you i push the tooling a little to get to the painting. I guess there is a Medical term for that type of behavor.

I modified a brush to creat long grass that a stamp could not do. never thought about that for the shading. It's these little tips that I learn from. Thank you. Haven't found a Forum on art that Is as full of share techiniqqques as this Forum is.

Thank You. My Mom and sister can do the whole thing-draw paint-aand make the frames. Me ,Didn't evan Know til i was 66 that there was a spark. It's still a spark.Have to make istakes t improve.

What i am up to is figuring out how to fade contrasting colors.Watering down paint does not work for me. Tried a mediium that will flow paint easer-Not. so it's a light dip into the paint and brushing excess off. Sometimes. Smuge was fixed.

you got it. fine tuning will help and a program that will scale down will doo you wonders. I for got to mention that i use printmaster to sale the whole image to fit any size of leather i am working with. The picture has 3 props. Hat,badge and the cigar. each scaled to fit.
-
Ok here goes. I use adobi photoshopto scale up or down an image Any free photo editor will do it.Also useit to ajust contrast. Iiuse Cutout 8 foe the background image i want. It can cut out an image from a backgroud also. I use this program to insert individual images -scale and move about. For cuting out something like a horse or what ever i use Impixio Photo shop. One most importain thing is tracing paper.

Yeap, like the shape and the choice of themes.Plus the reason you aare doing them. Tooling is fine also. After awhile you.will have the urge to do Scenes also. Thats what got me going with my style. Be glad to point you to some software to design your scenes to incorparate in the coasters shapes your using. I use 4 inch rounds or 4 inch x 6 inch and 2 inch x 3 inchwhengetting low and waiting for a shipment of leather. The paint bug maay take hold and 2 stores will be happy having you as a customer.

Thank You. 20,000 miles later and filled with oil.Ummm the one we replaced for you ( no charge) was the wrong one ) By the way been a long time , sorrry for the bill to rebuild engine you had to pay.

I do a lot of,Well a whole lot of pictorial tooling and paintings. Some may be wondering Is that it. No traditional work? Thing is I have done Wallets, baseballs, holsters.belts and such. I just dont get the gradification of doing them or selling. 45 years of selling auto and over the road truck parts kind of ruined sales for me. well, here is one of my handy work. Comment if you want. it want be no worse than aa P Oed truck driver with the wrong parts.

AlamoJoe-- The only thingis being carefull when tooling and not rushing I guess. Decide too use a camera after tooling to catch the inperfections and afterpainting to double check. the skill is by the bootstrap if thats what you call it. Kinda trial and error. Kind of like pulling teeth before the novcane kicks in.

Somehow I lost my grove or in case of this, It showed in the wrong place. After going through 5 layers of different colors on the sky background I was so focused on color that I overlooked the tooling marks. (Ms Miley, by 10-12grade English teacher, would call that a run on sentence) Maybe able to fix it Note to self--- take a picture before any painting.

As it is said"It's good as it gets"
