You have more experience than I, but give it a try. The one in my avatar is horse in 6 to 7 oz, and it is holding up fine for the 3" XD. I'm about ready to make one for my EMP, with a few changes. Rick P. -

It's not I can't find gum rubber, McMaster Carr has it at just over $50.00 for a 12" x 12" pad in 1". But was wondering if there may be an alternate at a lower cost, that works. Thanks Rick P.

Take a look at the bobbin and make the thread is coming out and though the clip counter clock wise, mite also check to see if you may have dust buildup on where the thread goes in the little clip as it exits the bobbin.

Charlene, have you watched the DVD that came with the machine? I was having the same problem and watched the DVD and found out I had the machine threaded wrong though the tension. Also check to see if you have the bobbin so that the thread comes around the bobbin counter clock wise and up though the plate..

First of would like to say hi to all. I fairly new to leatherwork and all I have sown is done by hand. I have a next-door lady that picked up an old singer 99k from an estate sell this weekend and was wondering if it would handle up to 14 oz duties? Thanks Rick
