I did my first leather projects with my uncle in 1985 while visiting him. The good ole Tandy basic kit. I didn't do anymore until 4 years ago. Since then I have done maybe tripple the number of items posted here.
Thank you for all the compliments.

Thank you. The octopus was for my nephew. I told him to find a picture of what he wanted on the wallet and that is what he found. that was also my first project with out a kit. Lesson one keep fingers away from straight edge when cutting with a utility knife. They are very sharp and get deep into the flesh before you realize it even went in.
leatherthresher Sorry it took so long to reply, been busy. The lace was 4mm and the tools used to pull the lace through the holes were my fingers. It wasn't too bad the holes were large enough for the lace to pull through easily.
Thank you for your suggestions. I opted to leave the rest of it natural.
Thank you for the compliment on the coloring. Defiantly learned my lesson on trying to clean up the oops. Won't be doing that again.
Only been doing leather work for about a year now. Unfortunately my artistic ability is limited. I can take patterns and pictures and put them on leather but I have a hard time with choosing colors and finishes.
On this piece I am not sure whether or not to dye it and if so what color. I know once I put the dye on there is no turning back so I am stuck. Bad enough the green spattered at some point and I didn't realize it until it was already dry.
Any critiques and suggestions welcome.
