HI, I know I'm well out of date on this reply, however I was wondering how you got on with the purchase of those machines.... Regards Steve

Would anyone have a photo of the rein going thru the machine and between the guides?
-
Hi, you've probably fixed the problem by now, however if not, its all about the relationship between the needle and the cast off lever beside it. If the needle is bent, the hook bent or worn or mishapen or there is no lubricant in the pot you can have trouble, likewise the wrong thread. The best advise I can give is to turn it over with a flat piece of leather inserted and watch very carefully to see what the needle and cast off do, if it drops the first loop before pulling the second thru it you should be able to see why. It could be as simple as the needle being the wrong depth or even in backwards, make sure it faces the cast off. Regards Steve

that's great thanks very much. Regards Steve

HI, I'm over in Australia and have a few 45K parts, what is it you need?? Regards Steve
-
Hi Phil, even though the K would indicate this machine was made in Scotland they seem to be mainly found in the US. The dealers seem to stock them.. ie USA-Dealer etc. I'm in Oz and not really familiar with the mode. Sorry about that. Regards STeve

HI, Does anybody know what has happened to the Luberto company, their website still runs, but phones and emails don't work.?? Also what is the reputation of the machines, are they as good and long lasting as the Pearson or Landis? Also what is the difference between the Classic and the No 9? On a slightly different tack, I now have stocks of Pearson no 6 rein rounder attachment and special matching needle plate for those that have been asking. They are well made, hardened steel and yes sorry expensive, but then even a standard edge roller (which you will also need) from Aaron is (I think) $185. Regards Steve

. HI, I know I'm rather slow in writing to you, I've been interested in locating a Luberto for some time. Are you able to tell me the difference between the Classic and the No 9? The Luberto website still runs, however the email addresses don't work, do you know whether they are still in business? And lastly did you sell your machine, if not what money are you asking?? Regards Steve .

Can Anyone Help Me With This Junker & Ruh Blake Machine
Singermania replied to kevp's topic in Old/Sold
HI, I've just spotted your post, I'm a collector and can say I've not seen that model before. I'm also looking for a manual for a large Standard Blake insole stitcher from the late 1800s, did you get a manual for your machine?? Best Regards Steve -
HI, I'm looking for shuttles, shuttle springs, pricking feet, rein rounder attachment, feet, bobbin winder, needles, needle plates....really anything Pearson related, I'm trying to get a good range of parts across the board. Regards Steve
-
Hi Trox, its Steve in Australia, did you every get any information on the Pearson round rein attachment?? is so could you enlighten me too.?? Regards Steve
-
HI Darren, you're right, I'll sneak up on him and see if I can get any bits and pieces..hehe. I now have 3 Pearson no 6 bobbin winders and I've found someone that is going to have a go at casting some new ones. Also from a no 6 table, I hope to make some reproductions. If anyone out there has a rein rounder attachment or any decent drawings or photos I'd like to see them.... there is a line drawing in the manual, but its not enough for me to get a good reproduction going. I'm in the market for any Pearson parts that might be out there, doesn't really matter how grubby or unattractive they might appear. I'm testing an old Blake insole stitcher from about 1878 at present and it will be going off to a new owner shortly, would anyone have or know a link to a manual? I've attached a photo of the Blake and also a picture of a Koch/Atlas that I've been searching for and finally added to my collection for those interested in old iron. Regards Steve
-
HI Notie, I came across your old ad to sell a Pearson, I wondered whether you have sold or whether you might have any old Pearson parts or litrerature. Regards Steve
-
Hi, I wonder does anyone have a catalogue or some kind of listing of Pearson extras, I have a number of different feet, guides, plates etc and each has a number, the manual lists a great deal of parts and numbers, however they are in amongst other parts and I have items not listed there. Some parts are fairly obvious as to their purpose, however I'm only a collector and not a saddler or leather worker so other parts are a mystery to me. I have original British and French no 6 manuals, however do people realise that this machine was manufactured in Germany also (DVSG) ie German Shoe Machinery Company. I have all three machines in my collection, that is to say the British, the French and the German models..... they only differ slightly French United also put out a nice glossy covered price list of needles, threads and belts.... I expect there are many related books, catalogues, price lists etc. Regards Steve

Sweet Puritan Stitching Machine Video
Singermania replied to Kustom's topic in Leather Sewing Machines
Like Darren I'm also attracted to old machinery, I have two Puritans, actually one is labelled an Astra, however its a Puritan copy I guess. I bought these machines some time back and haven't had them running as yet, this video has really given me something to think about. Regards and thanks for posting Steve -
HI Robert, sorry not to get back to you straight away, we are having some problems with floods at present. Shipping is pretty expensive to Australia, however if you are prepared to pack it with the correct timber, I can send you the info on that and if there is a bobbin winder and motor then I think we have a deal. Look forward to hearing from you again.. It might be easier to go over to our normal email addresses if thats convenient to you. Mine is stevebonnett@dodo.com.au Regards Steve
-
HI, yes its nice to see them used. Could you let me know how much you want for it pls. Regards Steve
-
HI Darren, the 335 is a really good machine, you should get a good response when it becomes known you have one for sale. I've picked up a very rare Singer 6-10 to go with my 6-12 and looking for any manual or part manual therof. I have all the usual sources so it needs to be something someone has themselves. I also have an old Blake institcher (1878) and would like to find a manual for that too if anyone can spare a copy of one they have. Regards Steve

Hi again Les, I'm struggling a bit to attach files, however if I have done it correctly you will see part of my BUSMC/Pearson collection taken last year before we moved to a bigger shed.
