  1. I did not see the separate forum for sewing machines. Thanks! Can a mod please delete this thread?
  2. I picked up an old Singer 301 today from an estate sale. The price was $20 and she runs like a champ! How could I pass it up?! I know it is not designed to sew leather, but it got me to thinking. What models are good for sewing veg tan leather? I know these are machine designed for sewing thick leather at an industrial level, but what about the hobbyist? What should I be looking for in a machine when cruising estate sales, etc... I know that it's important to make sure all the parts are there, I mean models. Can the old peddle powered Singers run the thick thread used in the average pancake holsters, belt, etc...? Thanks, Bobby
  3. Thanks for all the replies, I have decided I am better off leaving the molding to the pro's. I just ordered 10 guns, 4 from Ring's and 6 used guns from a forum member.
  4. Thanks for the feedback! I will be placing an order with Ring's in the morning.
  5. Please do! Also, and word on the quality of Botach Tactical? The are only $35 new! I have to believe that there is a reason the price is so low. http://www.botachtactical.com/blueguns.html
  6. I will take the Walther PPS! What model Springfield XD 9 do you have? 3, 4, or 5 inch barrel? If it's 3 or 4, I'll take that too. I am also interested in the S&W M&P compact, but I would like to see what it looks like. I looked for a pic online, but could not find one. I left a message on your machine too. Thanks!
  7. Is one better then the other? What are the pros and cons? Thanks! Bobby
  8. I am looking for a custom makers stamp that would incorporate a logo. I recall seeing one during my searches that was under $40 but can no longer find the site. Can someone please recommend a supplier? Thanks!
  9. I do not want to hear that!!! However I am slowly coming to the same conclusion. :-( Maybe I should start buying them used to save money?
  10. That's a good idea. I called Tap and the gal there seemed a little confused. I will try the places you suggested.
  11. I am looking into a way to make my own "blue guns" for holster making. It looks like my best (least expensive) option would be to make a Urethane RTV mold from a pistol, and then use a plastic resin to make the "blue gun". Has anyone made their own? Is this the strategy you used? Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Bobby
