  3. Particle, no cold feet here. Someone wants it in Florida but hasn't came up with the cash yet. I'll give them a couple of days, like I would give anyone. If they don't pay within the next few days then it's back up for 1050.00 and I pay the shipping. Seems it would have been easier to go the Ebay route though. Steve
  4. Actually, he was the first person that responded to my post. I haven't seen any response or payment yet. If he doesn't respond soon, I'll put it up again for the public to bid on Steve

  7. It's a couple years old. I'll post pictures later today. Steve
  8. Art, thanks for the reply, and with the description you provided. I was actually able to find more info from a google search after reading your post. I'm guessing I won't need one at the class as I don't plan to make that type of holster. The other tool, I'll just bring a big screwdriver and play stupid! Steve
  9. I am hoping to be able to attend the Wikensburg show in February. The workshop I want to attend is the 'Secrets of Professional Holster Making' put on by John Bianchi and company. In their course description they mention several tools to bring but, as a newby, some of these are foreign to me. Can anyone tell me what these are? 1. throng puller (shop made) 2. forded tool (shop made) Also, if anyone has any thoughts about taking this course, good or bad, I'd love to hear those as well. At 795.00 it's a lot of money to spend, I hope it's worth it. Thanks, Steve

  11. I bought one of these from Chris as well. Do you use anything on the leather during the burnishing process? I've heard people say to use bees wax. Steve
  12. Dwight, I'll give your method a try. Thanks for your help. Steve
  13. I'm new at leather working but the last two holsters I have attempted to make have come out way too tight. So tight I can't get the gun in the holster. I've been using the following formula. After I lay out a holster pattern, I measure the width of the gun and add the thickness of one layer of leather.(half of the gun width plus the thickness of one layer of leather) I use this measurement to place my stitch line on the leather. In most cases, after sewing, the holster is too tight to even get the gun into the holster. Even after I wet the leather, I still come up short. Is there a formula that works more often than not? Thanks, Steve
  14. I'm fairly new to leather working and have learned a lot from this forum. I recently started making holsters. I made a template for a holster but found out before I sewed it up that it was going to be too tight. On the leather I used a small pointed tool to mark where my stitch line was going to be. I moved my line out before I sewed the holster and now the gun fits fine. My problem is now, I have some small marks where I marked the first stitch line. Is there any way I can either make these marks go away or at least reduce their appearance? Steve
  15. I recently started making leather holsters. I have a Tippmann Boss sewing machine and have been able to make some fairly decent holsters. My question is this, what size needles and thread are most commonly used? I'm using what Tippmann Industries calls a 200 needle and 277 thread. The needle is a Chisel point type. My question is, should I use smaller needles and thread, or should I change to a round point needle. I typically fabricate my holsters from two pieces of 9 oz leather. Any thought would be appreciated. Steve
