  1. I'm looking for New Tools that I can use in my Videos and hopefully connect with someone in a brand deal. Some people noted older used Tools, I know they're great a lot of the time, but I'm more looking for something that I can advertise while using on my channel. Sorry, pretty much a full line.. I guess there's those Tandy pro tools... better than my olfa knife probably.
  2. Hey everyone, I lurk a lot here but don't pop in for many questions. I'm a YouTuber, I operate the Dark Horse Workshop channel and I would really like to find some quality hand tools to either buy outright or figure out a sponsorship/brand deal with. I want them to be obviously of high quality, and look slick. I'm a little tired of cutting everything with my olfa knife, though I do love it. Thoughts?
  3. Email me. Richard.wasnock@gmail.com Im interested.
  4. Tippman boss $1300canadian Contact Richard.wasnock@gmail.com
  5. Ends up Steve and I weren't on the same page with what I bought. I had the EPS on mine, needed my belt on a different wheel.
  6. Doesn't seem tight to me (the belt) so that's the issue I'm having.... and there's no way to make it tighter, it's at it's max distance.
  7. I bought a Cobra Class 4 and it won't sew anything, it hits pretty much any material, then the belt slides. I've lowered the disk bellow the table as far down as it will go, and it still seems like it's very easy to put the belt on. Steve is troubleshooting with me through email but I'm wondering if anyone else has any ideas?
  8. Ya, I'm pretty strapped after a Cobra Class 4 purchase, you should hold off for someone who can do the $750-$850 range I'm sure. But if you get to a point where nobody wants to buy it and you no longer care, I certainly have $500, which is way too little for it.
  9. I've got 500 I can afford to throw at this of you ever need to get rid of it. 850 is a fair price, just not what I can afford.
  10. Ya, and on top of that my air compressor I need to run for it to work... runs almost all the time.
  11. Tippmann is usually spot on in solving problems for me.,
  12. I think I've decided on a Cobra. If everything is created equal, at least they're on the west coast like I am.
  13. Looking for anyone that knows of any differences in these machines (probably with their "extras") I'm looking over the various packages and just am waffling on pulling the trigger on one.
  14. Depending on the price, I'd be interested in purchasing it off of her. Give me a shout via email: richard.wasnock@gmail.com Sent you a private message as well. 15. I've seen this list $1300 range: Techsew 3650HD Cowboy 2500 $2000 range: Techsew 4100 Cowboy 3500 Cobra class 3 $2500 range: Techsew 5100 Cowboy 4500 Cobra class 4 If the money isn't an issue, then where should I look to spend my bucks?
  16. I've been working with an old Aerostitch I picked up used, and also have a Boss kicking around. I would like to upgrade from the Aerostitch to something that has a clean stitch on both sides of the leather and doesn't need an air compressor. I would also like something to sew lighter weight leather. Suggestions? I've scouring posts, I'm sure there's some good ones here. But maybe someone knows of a specific post on specific machines.
  17. There is at least 1 tutorial on putting together a motorcycle seat around here, but I had more specific questions. My issue, and probably the issue of most people, is making the seat pattern, and then lining up your holes correctly. Pretty much every seat I've done (5), I Mickey Mouse my way through the pattern design, and wing it on the holes. Every seat I've done so far has a bottom pattern that is larger than the top due to the curve of the seat, and the foam. I also end up mounting the bottom and leaving it bigger than intended with no holes punched, then awkwardly getting the right size and cutting a bit away at a time as I repeatedly line up the top, then I punch holes of which 90% line up because of the size difference. I account for this and space the bottom holes a tiny bit wider than the top holes, which helps make everything work, but it's not perfect. I've come to the conclusion that in order to line up my holes on two pieces of leather that are of different size, I should punch all my holes in the top piece, then lay it in the center of the bottom piece which is slightly larger(top side to top side/inverted) and draw a line out to the edge from the top holes to where the holes on the bottom piece should be (or guess), and this would both give me an exact number of holes, and exact spacing. To accomplish this I need to stop the Mickey Mouse work of mounting a bottom piece with no holes punched. *deep breath* So, what's the best way to pattern out your top and bottom first? I saw a post saying they wrapped the seat with a plastic bag, then put tape all over it, drew the cut line, and cut along it. After that you just add a bit more if you want an overlap at your seem. This seems like a good way to do it, and would bring me another step closer to changing my ridiculous process. In fact I'll be trying this on the next one, but just wanted to check in if anyone had any other suggestions.
  18. Tan Kote seems to streak a lot on me, any tips for not having that happen? I was thinking of spraying it on, but am not sure what to spray it with, any thoughts on that? Thanks
  19. Looking for a good machine to sew thinner leather with. I have the Aerostitch and the Boss, but they don't really work for that kind of stuff. Looking for other options. I inherited this old sewing machine, and because of the simplicity of my Aerostitch and Boss it kind of scares me : http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Piedmont-Hudsons-Bay-Heavy-Duty-Sewing-Machine-/200499986687 Would that work well enough? Just change the needles up ? What needles ? Richard
  20. Also getting into seats lately and any more feedback on this topic would be appreciated. So I guess you do the top of the seat pattern on paper and the bottom on paper.. and like.. scortch tape them both together all the way around and mark off the holes? Makes sense to me
