  1. I see all your points. From their perspective they probably didn’t really know what to do. What I should have done is just use them when I got to them and emailed Tandy if there was a problem. In my defense I was so surprised when they arrived I was just kind of pissed at the way the whole thing went down. I probably jumped the gun on that. But she set the mood for the entire conversation when she denied that message was ever there and it snowballed form there.
  2. I’m not sure why they keep emailing about this ticket. I feel like this same woman is screwing with me at this point. She tells me last week if I have a problem I can return them. I said ok. Then she emails me again today to tell me let her know within 10 days if I have a problem. I’m not going to test 16 bottles of stain in the next couple of days. Who has time for that? I had a bottle of stain a couple years ago I’d bought from SLC that had obviously frozen at some point. I emailed them and they sent me a replacement no questions asked. This woman is making such a huge deal about these stupid stains I’m almost sorry I even emailed them at this point. I completely forgot about this, why did she have to email me again just to piss me off. I seriously feel at this point she’s doing it on purpose.
  3. Unfortunately there aren’t any Tandys close by. The person I was emailing with obviously wanted me to pay to return the stains sealed without making sure they were frozen so they could resell them. That’s just putting the problem on the next guy that buys them and that isn’t cool. I’ll just get rid of them if they’re no good but I won’t be buying from Tandy again. I have other vendors that I pay a little more but the service is so much better.
  4. I’m pretty disappointed. But the small price savings and ability to order online without talking to anyone isn’t worth it. I should have just ordered from my normal vendors.
  5. Anyone know if Tandy was sold or something? I stopped ordering anything from them because they never got an order right and their leather was pretty crappy. Someone recently told me they were straightening up under new management so I figured I’d give them another shot.. They also use a fulfillment center now? Didn’t they used to send stuff from the closest store that had what you needed? There’s still some stuff I could use from them like rivets and stain and things but if anything they seem even worse than before. One order was missing something and the other is a long story but they kind of aggravated me sending the stain during deep freezes when they weren’t supposed to then the woman is arguing with me about it. The website clearly said the fulfillment center was closed due to weather and they wouldn’t ship anything for 4-6 weeks. I was only going there to put the stuff in my cart fir later but when I saw it wouldn’t be shipped for at least 4 weeks I figured I’d just place to order and I wouldn’t have to think about it again. The woman I was emailing with didn’t get it. Anyway I was just wondering if there was any kind of change there.
  6. Sorry for the late reply. There didn’t seem to be very much interest anyway, but I started using the scrap for small projects.
  7. And amazingly, I keep getting emailed the flyer advertising the sale with these things still listed. I think I’ve gotten 8 or 9 emails in the last 3 days.
  8. That definitely is pretty cool. Also great for space management. Thank you!
  9. Thanks. I’m sure I’ll see a used one at a great price the day it arrives lol. Have a great weekend.
  10. I know exactly how you feel. For years I sweated shipping costs and price shopped. Tandy always disappoints me and I should have learned my lesson by now. All to save a couple hundred dollars but the splitter isn’t a necessity so I figured eh I’ll give it a shot.
  11. Bruce, Thank you sir those look pretty cool, but I already ordered a cheap one on amazon for 170 bucks that actually looks very much like the one for sale on Tandy originally 400 bucks. We’ll see if it doesn’t work well, I’ll message you about the army surplus one you have for sale if it’s still there. I like old historical machines. As far as the Tandy sale it looks like all the sale machines are all sold out. I feel kind of lucky honestly because they always find a way to disappoint me. I have regular reliable suppliers but I dumped about a grand worth of stuff in the cart figuring kill a bunch of birds with free shipping. But I emptied the cart and I’m feeling pretty zen about it.
  12. It went on sale this morning and immediately sold out. I been watching this sale alll month just for the splitter and it sells out immediately. Once again disappointed by Tandy.
  13. Yea that’s the one. Thank you! I’ll keep an eye out on the 20th.
  14. Thank you. Is it the TandyPro® Deluxe Leather Splitter for $339.99? I think I deleted the flyer I just got and now I can’t find it. But I’ll set an alarm on my phone and check back on their website on the 20th thank you. 170 sounds pretty good if it works as well as you say. Much appreciated. I see it, thank you. I’d the Tandy one doesn’t work out I’ll defiantly look into that one. Thans again.
  15. I need a splitter to split a bunch of 10/11 ounce strap scraps mostly between 1.5 inches wide to 3/4 inches wide and I want to get it down to between 3/4 and 7/8 ounces to find the best thickness in that range. Are the cheap splitters ok for this or am I going to be wasting my money? I found some projects for the scrap which I have a ton of but I need to split it to make it suitable for what I want to do with it. ive never used a splitter before so some help would really be appreciated. I've considered getting an older one on CL but these things seem to be demanding big money. Anyway, thanks for any advice.
  16. This has been sold. Thank you.
  17. Mostly 10/11 ounce with a few smaller 3/4 ounce patch sized pieces.. 3/4 to 1 inch wide with some odd shapes end strips included. The pictures are of exactly what’s included.
  18. I’ll pull it out and look tomorrow. Let me get back to you with measurements.
  19. I believe most are between 3/4 and 1 inch wide. And they’re 10/11 ounce.
  20. The can is about 3 feet deep of the same stuff.
  21. If you are interested in some scrap leather, please message me here or feel free to send a PM. I have a clean barrel/trash can bought specifically for this use and never had trash in it that's always been kept covered in my climate controlled shop full of small pieces and long strips of scrap leather. All the leather is cut from Wickett and Craig hides and has not been stained or dyed. I'm simply looking to sell some of it to make room in the barrel for more scraps from my projects because the barrel is full. If no one is interested that's fine. I would rather not just toss it if someone could use it. Thank you for your time and attention.
  22. How about this. 2 pounds of scrap leather, $20 shipping included in the US. The scale was zeroed out with the box on it, so that is the weight of just the leather. Most of my scraps look like this. Is it just trash? Would there be interest in anything like this or am I wasting my time? Are my prices too high? Should I separate shipping? Offer more per lot (I'm doing it this way because the envelopes seemed cheapest)? I'm not looking to make a business of this, just get rid of some scraps for what I thought was cheap. I do't get insulted so fire away with any criticism. I figured someone could use it, but if I' wrong I'll just toss it. It's taking up room and I'm just looking to get rid of it plus a little extra for my time. Money isn't my motivation if anyone has any advice how to sell this stuff.
  23. Good morning! The bin I have for scraps is about full and I need to start selling it off to make room for more. I'm going to start off with some of the excess strips off the end from when I cut straps with my AK-20. All of these are off Wickett & Craig hides. 2 pounds of leather, all are 10/11 ounce leather, some wider than others since they are the excess cut off the ends and mostly between 6-8 feet long, although there could be a few shorter ones. $23 obo, shipping included in the US via USPS Priority Flat Rate Padded Envelope.
