  2. Greetings everyone, I am seeking a Bench Shoe Jack or Lasting Jack, I prefer industry models if possible I am willing to drive to bordering U.S. states that border with California to obtain one or more Bench Shoe Jack or Lasting Jack apparatus My reason/purpose for use: A useful tool/apparatus that would enable me to making better quality orthotic designed footware & orthotic designed moccasins for those folks that would need and find usefull my custom made ortho-mocs/shoes. I am offering a finders reward for the fellow leatherworker.net member or associate thereof upon my success in obtaining a Bench Shoe Jack or Lasting Jack apparatus within the perimeters I set forth. I thank all who shall read this and pass this request on to others! ayn

    ayn LeatherCraft projects

The curerent images are my leathercrafting projects from to date. With this new album, I added a few more images, which includes the SVLG Christmas party & a leathercraft workshop I taught in 2011.
  4. Thanks for the welcoming Marine!

  5. Thanks much 'Bluesman' for your comment/compliment! It just so happened that I did actually write my name on the underside of support block. The stitching pony shall remain in service until the day I obtain a Tippmann Boss machine! Then I shall consider putting the stitching pony up for sale. ayn
  6. Thank you Blazin for your compliment! I hope that my reply to your comment shall be helpful to you! The purpose for making the stitching pony/quarter horse was mutli-fold; out of practical necessity, since I have yet to obtain/afford a Tippmann-Boss machine, and needed a 'third pair of hands' to securely hold a leathercraft project as I stitched project together, and it actually helped to increase productivity time! With respect to where you can get the instruction book; Tandy Leather store usually has them available. The book title is "The Art Of Hand Sewing Leather", by Al Stohlman". .In the last few pages of the book, you shall find the diagram & instructions on how to make your own Stitching Pony. And maybe if your like me, if you lack one or two items in the construction of the stitching pony, improvise! I hope the information/reply was helpful to you fellow member! ayn

Excellent workmanship! Serves both utility and tooling artwork! Thank you for displaying your work fellow member
  8. Stitching Pony I made from mostly scrap wood & several hardware pieces, some improvised, that is an indespensable tool for me, especially since I have onset of arthritis in my powerhand! Until I can afford a Tippman machine,it serves me well! The design many may know, it was made based on the drafting & instructions by Al Stohlman in The Art of Hand sewing Leather by Al Stohlman, from Tandy.
  9. Fellow member, 'Leatherman87', Thank you for showing courtesy by informing me that you have already sold the Tippmann Boss machine. And the very best of success with your new upgraded leather stitching machine! ayn
  10. Howdy fellow leatherworker member, Within the next week or so, I shall be seriously shopping for a Tippmann Boss Machine. I am located in northern California. If you have already sold your Tippmann, "congrats!!!" and success on your new upgrade pardner!!! Thank you ayn

    Mocs for my family

Thank you much 'Suicide' for the two thumbs up, regarding the mocs I made for my family! Currently, I have completed construction on a home made Stitching Pony, based on the design made by Al Stohlman (from the Art of Hand Sewing Leather) instruction book. Also just referbished a pair of used shoe lasts, and am looking forward to using them to improve workmanship on future moccasins! Again, thanks!
  12. Hiya Jessica, I hope that my reply shall provide you with realistic and productive results; Tandy leather store has a good selection of Instruction books on "The Art Of Making Leather Cases" series. Originally authored/written by Al and Anne Stohlman. The Art of Making Leather Cases Volume2, might contain the info you need. Some Tandy stores have individual rifle scabbard patterns and some holster patterns available. www.tandyleatherfactory.com . And you might also try e-mailing Tandy .A helpful staff that might assist you further in what your lookinf for specifically. Another resource for tips on holster making and related leathercrafing tips and articles would be the Leathercrafters and Saddlemakers Journal. www.leathercraftersjournal.com The Leathercrafters Journal publishes a quarterly magazine. It also has Want Ads and For Sale ads at the back of the magazine. I wish you the very best of success in your leathercrafting business Jessica! ayn
  13. CarvedOn, Although its likely I am late in commenting on theFishing Wallet, the outcome of your artwork designed, "outstanding detail !!" I do not believe the photo/image did your artwork design justice. I am amazed at the detail you were able to accomplish! Did you 'burn' or echt out the details with a hot iron type tool? Of you did burn/etch out the design with the hot iron tool... PS: Another design of yours that brings back favorite past times! Especially fishin for trout!!! Thats one very fortunate Canadian and one jealous American! Thank you for sharing your artwork design CarvedOn!!!
