  1. I have a Neel’s Saddlery Model 5, leather/saddlery sewing machine. It comes with custom table, TCM Servo Motor, instructions, some bobbins and needles, a bag of leather scrap, etc. We moved this summer and it has not been reassembled onto its table since our move but it is in otherwise – ready to go , outstanding condition. Neel’s is super helpful. They helped me learn to thread the machine properly over the phone. Although there are instructions included with the machine, along with original purchase receipt and a users guide. It was over $1200 new a few years ago. http://www.neelsaddlery.com/ This machine has been well taken care. I have decided to change direction with my work, and it has been sitting, unused for over a year now. asking $750 – pickup or I can possibly meet up. I will be in NOVA and MD a few times over the coming weekends. LOCATION – Broadway, VA
  2. What type of leather do I want to get to repair a saddle seat? something thin, that I can apply like a patch, but what exactly? where can I order a small amount? I just want to do some repairs on a few saddle seats. Thanks in advance.
  3. maybe I should also ask what type of leather I should be looking for.
  4. I need to pick up some scraps of saddle seat leather to do some repair work. any suggestions of where to buy some? thanks
  5. I do realize leather and BioThane are different. and yes, I am looking to begin working with both materials. I was just interested in anything that someone already working with biothane has found that they think might benofit a beginner to know. If you feel different tools and a different machine needs to be used, what type would you suggest?
  6. awesome, thanks for the info Greg. very helpful
  7. I have been sewing for about 20 years but mostly light fabric based items. I am excited to be going in a new direction and moving into leather, and primarily biothane. I have not purchased any equipment yet, so if anyone has any beginner tips on working with biothane that I should know before I get started, I am all ears (or eyes). cheers Krista
