Carved Travelling Bag
Stephan Danner replied to boma's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Again spectacular work. Reminds me it´s a long way to go for me and the bags I tried till now *lol* -
A fantastic job on this - and again some inspiration I get from this board for future projects. Never thought of a clock till now. Thank you for sharing!

My prefered medium for tracing patterns are simple laminating pouches. Inexpensive, available in rather large format (42 x 30 cm in my case). Simple tear the front and the back apart and you get to sheets for your tracing. I use a fine permanent marker - if you want, you can use different colors for different parts of the image, i.e. black for the cuts, red for sections to be shaded etc. And besides, I can use them over and over again.

Floral Women's Bag

Alright, thank your for your tip - I´ll give that a try next time! -
Hey Sylvia - thank you for the tip ;-) I am not too deep into viking history and the helmet was done just the way I was told to to from my son. But if I get to make a "real thing" anytime, I will remember your hint!

Hey Doc! I made a similar helmet for my son - did the patterns by myself with paper first. Just give it a try, would love to see the result!

Nice one, would love to see it when all things are done. Only thing I find is the lack of shading in the skulls and bones. Perhaps a little pear shading would give the skeletons more depth. Anyway - keep up and thank you for sharing!

Nice job on that - I especially like the asymmetric front flap. Thanx for sharing! -

Thank you for sharing this piece of art! My first project was a handbag for my wife - a tandy kit and not to compare with yours. How do you get your leather that black? Till now I only used the tandy-blacks, but they all get a little violett-blue-blackish :-( -
Cowboy Couture Holster
Stephan Danner replied to MattW's topic in Gun Holsters, Rifle Slings and Knife Sheathes
A truly wonderful piece of art - I especially like how you worked the borderlines and the fine details, i.e. the hairblade-cuts in the stems. Thank you for sharing! -
Hummingbird Belt Buckle
Stephan Danner replied to jpsjewel's topic in Purses, Wallets, Belts and Miscellaneous Pocket Items
Yeah, nice coloring an that - soft and "light". Perhaps I would have done the feathers of the wings with more detail than just swivel-cuts - like the tailfeathers for example. Overall a nice one - keep trying! -
