  1. Thanks for the info. One other thing. Do you dye your project first then paint, if so, do you dye the parts to be painted or do you dye just the parts you want dyed and paint the parts you want painted? What's your process?
  2. When you paint your projects with acrylic, do you paint them cased or dry?
  3. Hi all, new here, just started leathercrafting. If you're wondering about my avatar, I'm a member of the Single Action Shooting Society and am an Old West Re-enactor. With that said, I'm interested in making gun belts, holsters, knife sheaths, book marks, book covers and alot of misc. I'm from Carol Stream, Illinois

  6. Ok, now I'm confused. On Tandy's site, it you look up white Jewelers Rouge to buy, it says to rub it on the flesh side of the leather to strop. If you look at their instructions on how to make a stropping board, it says to use contact cement and glue the flesh side down on a piece of cardboard or wood. Well, which is it? Do you strop your swivel knife on the flesh side with Rouge or the grain side? Also, they said to soak it in honing oil first. Don't have any, what can I use as an alternative?
  7. Thanks for the tips Ricky! I'll put those tools on my list.
