  1. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll go with the Olive oil for now.
  2. Don't have any Neatsfoot oil yet, can I use Mink oil instead on my veg tanned leather?
  3. I'm a gold club member and plus the discount, I get one free stamp a month, plus I goat a free ceramic swivel blade when I signed up. Paid for the cost of the $35 membership the first month.
  4. Some patterns here: http://www.slickbaldcustoms.com/
  5. I set my time zone in settings to Central time, U.S. and Canada, but the time displayed on my posts is actually 5 hours ahead of the actual time I posted it. What's up?
  6. Is it ok to put antique gel on a bookmark with a sponge?
  7. In image 2, how did you get that affect?
  8. I have the same problem and this is what I found through testing. No matter how much block/resist I used on an area, the dye always adhered to the blocked/resisted areas. I did find that antique gel does not adhere to resisted areas.
  9. Thanks to everyone for your advise. Sounds good to me.
  10. Nice work!
  11. Everything I used in the test was Eco-flo.
  12. I did an experiment last night with Eco-Flo resists, dyes, and antiques. I found that the resists didn't work with the dyes, but they did work with the antiques. So there has to be something that will resist dyes. If not, then I guess I will have to use antiques every time I want to block out or resist something in a pattern. That doesn't seem right.
  13. Pumpkins, bats, witches, skeletons.....anything that relates to Halloween.
  14. Anybody know where I can find some Halloween patterns?
  15. I'm using Eco-Flo dye.
  16. When did they raise the prices? I was just at my local Tandy and stamps were still $7.99. I was there on Saturday (Oct. 6).
  17. My daughter graduated from Purdue so I wanted to make her a bookmark based on the colors of the Purdue t-shirt she has (Yellow & black). I put the word PURDUE down the bookmark, did the tooling and it was time to dye/paint. I painted the letters yellow, let dry, put Block Out on the letters, let dry, then wanted to dye the background black. Well, the block out didn't work, the black dye got all over the letters. Any suggestions?
  18. Nice work "D". I hope my cowboy rig comes out as good as your rig did.
  19. Can I use acrylic paint over block out resist or super sheen?
  20. I tried that route, but nobody around here would give me anything for free. They all wanted to sell me some jagged cut up smaller pieces for $20, so I sprang for it.
  21. I saw alot of posts where people were paying a high price for shipping on granite slabs. I just got a 9X12X3 granite slab from Grizzly.com for $31.40 shipped!
  22. Looks like an opportunity to buy more leather supplies!
  23. Very nice! I compete in CAS too and I want to get to a point where I can make something like that.
  24. I'm a little confused. According to Tandy, Cova color IS acrylic paint. Can someone clarify?
