Heard on the news this morning driving in that two of the guys that started a fire a year ago have been charged. They are both going to be charged with First Degree Murder because 5 firefighters died. Stoning is too good for these guys.

Everything is "politics." I do things at home to be sure that I'll get lucky. My wife knows exactly what I'm doing and why. Hey, it works. She gets what she wants, I get what I want. "America has no inheirtantly criminal class; except congress." Mark Twain I don't trust politicians at all. If reincarnation is true, a politician will have to live 10 more lives to reach the level of a cockroach.

I've been doing the "double-lines" for awhile now but I seem to make a screw up here and there that I thought a double-line blade would eliminate. The thing with the blade I purchased is it's very narrow, less than 1/8". I looked at the Beard tools; he has 3 different sizes for $60 each. I talked to the accountant. She said to save my allowance!

I didn't vote for him either. Today is historic. We changed the head of state without a revolution or violence. I may not like the man, but I can respect the office. I hope he does well and wish him the best. Leather? Hey, he looks like he just stepped off the cover of GQ magazine! Gotta be leather in his shoes and belt!

Thank you! I'm going to check them out. OK, now off to the accountant (my wife!) and let her know I'm going to spend some $$$!

Greg, Allen, Bree, Thanks for the suggestions! OK, back to the strop and find some scraps to practice. So far, not really happy with this blade but no other double-line blades are available anywhere (I've checked anyway). Practice, strop, practice, strop! I get it!

and if anyone dies, charge them with 1st degree murder. Firemen/women are heros in my book!

Every specie changes something on this planet. Human beings are a native specie. We change things. Now, I know certain gags disagree with me, but the human beings belong here. The surface of this planet has changed completely at least 6 times in it's 4,500,000,000 years. It's gonna change some more. Some species live, some don't, others come along. It's a cycle and we can't stop it.

I bought one of these... http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/home/de...ature=Product_2 and immediately screwed up a couple of projects. Some of it's my fault, I know. I can't get the center to have rounded edges and when making turns it tends to drag. Anyone have any hints? I really like the idea that I can make 2 lines at once that are paralelle (I know I spelled that wrong). Thanks!

As a young newlywed many years ago, I worked in the operating room of a large hospital in Newport Beach, CA. John Wayne came in one day looking for a particular surgeon that was working on his neice! How cool! Then, went to work in a cable factory 'cause the hospital didn't pay enough and the woman I was married to complained about a lack of money. After a couple years in the cable factory she complained again and I started driving trucks. I hauled lumber, gasoline, various building products, heavy equipment, asphalt, rock and sand, roofing granules, lots of stuff. She still complained. I divorced her. I went back to college intending to become a paralegal and during that time I met my current (and LAST!) wife. We finally moved in together, moved to Truckee, CA and spent a year in a beautiful place. Worked very hard and made no money to live on and came back to Orange County. We decided to have her finish her degree in Accounting as it would take less time than my goal. I continued to drive trucks and hauled groceries, cookies for Nabisco, and finally couldn't stand trucks anymore. Now I'm a dispatcher/warehouse supervisor in Anaheim, CA and I've been here 18 years this month. My fiance finished school and at the same time her company was bought out and she received a bonus good enough to put us over on saving for a house so we bought one in 1999. We got married in 2000. My wife in now the Accounting Manager for a high-tech company in Anaheim. I get to play with leather when all other stuff is done. I usually go out to my garage/shop after 9pm and can work for a couple of hours. OK, I'm at work and I'm gonna go do some of it!

I'll try not to get into the global warming debate other than to say that Al Gore is both a fraud and a liar ....but hey, I'm just one of those "little people" and need a Big Brother to tell me what is best for me....yeah right. Yes, in California, home of the phony greens(they're sorta like a Caddilac liberal, ya know?), the spirit based dyes are banned. Can't buy them. So, what do I do? I order them from ST Leather in St. Louis and have them shipped to my friends in Arizona. My friends then relabel the box and send it on to me. So, if you're out here on the left coast, make some friends in Arizona!

Check here.... http://www.tandyleatherfactory.com/products.asp?dept=354 There are several kits here that can help you get started. Not that I'm an expert, but this is where I got started many years ago. I still have the tools and the book. Going this way, you're not out too many $$$ and you'll learn a bunch. One caveat! Once you get started doing this, you'll never want to quit.

No one but my wife listened to me when asked what I wanted. That's OK.... I love books and got several gift cards to Barnes & Noble and Borders! Gonna use them quickly! My wife's family are mostly "Caddilac Liberals" and we do give a few "joke" gifts. I gave my nephew/neice a roll of duct tape and labled it "babysitting material." They gave me some "green" grown organic coffee called "Bitches Brew." Christmas Eve with my family was just fun this year. No gift exchange as most of them are financially in trouble, but we had a great dinner and did a lot of laughing and talking. I gave several of them leather braclets and a custom "Texas" belt for my nephew. My wife who listened to me got me some wonderful slippers! She rocks! I gave her a couple of CDs. I have to say that Sarah Brightman has an absolutely incredible voice! Even if you don't care for the style of music, it's just beautiful. So my wife likes me a lot right now! We're on vacation this week.............leaving Tuesday........

It hasn't snowed where I live since 1948, a couple of years before I was thought of! I like Christmas, but being the godless heathen that I am, I just like getting together with the families (mine on Christmas Eve, her's on Christmas Day) and enjoying the company and the dinner. I really love Thanksgiving! It's a desert trip, no family involved, just friends who really want to be there! This year we had 28 adults for dinner outdoors, enjoying the sunset, the conversation, the lies about how good we ride our quads, etc. Everyone brings something for the dinner, even if it's just dinner rolls and no one is turned away from our table for any reason and no one leaves hungry! An absolutely wonderful time! -
Go here, there is live video feed. http://abclocal.go.com/kabc/index Fire started in Corona, moved to Yorba Linda, Anaheim Hills, now has gotten into Diamond Bar and Chino Hills. Pretty bad. I'm going to stick close to home.

I live in the city of Orange and the only thing between me and the Yorba Linda fire is a couple of miles of Anaheim Hills (I live on the poor side of the 55 freeway). Funny weather yesterday, almost hot early in the morning and I was outside by 6AM, then the wind kicked up and I'm thinking this is pretty normal for November but a bit hotter than normal. My wife came outside around 9AM and said she smelled smoke and I thought at first she was complaining about me again. Then I really noticed it. By noon, we had to use lights inside the house, the sun was literally blocked out by the smoke, ash everywhere, my dogs were gray instead of black. The whole neighborhood was inside, easiest way to cope with it. Lots of homes evacuated not too far from us. I was sorta ready to leave. My wife would grab the cats and a couple photo albums, jump in her car and leave. I would get whatever else I couldn't leave behind, get the dogs and get into the motorhome and leave, my old pickup can burn for all I care. I stayed awake as long as possible, watching the news. Freeways all around closed; too much smoke (I live about 1 mile from the 55/91 junction and that is the point they closed the 91 east bound, all traffic had to go west on the 91). The 57 was closed at Imperial Highway. My friend that lives in Fontana was in Huntington Beach and it took him almost 5 hours to find a way home. He was a bit tense when he called me. I slept in the living room with the dogs last night, expecting to hear evacuation warnings/sirens. None came. My female dog woke me up at 5AM, I got up to let her outside and there was no smoke and I could see the stars in the sky. I made coffee and fooled around with a leather project for awhile. Kept going outside and it was a bit breezy but clear. Then I noticed smoke on the west of me. Damn! What is that? OK, I'm going to try to find some news.

Buck up! We've been through bad times before, we'll survive this. So, last night, to celebrate our anniversary, we went out and had some great Mexican food! You folks across the pond gotta try it someday! I had some shrimp enchaladas with a tomotillo sauce that were spicy and wonderful! a little refried beans/cheese and some Mexican rice......really good! wonderful! My wife had some chicken fajitas, mixed with grilled onions, green and red bell peppers, corn tortillas. We started with some nachos, just tortilla chips with some beans, cheese and jalapenos on top. Finished with flan. Oh, and a Jack Daniels!

What an absofreakinloutely fabulous statement!!!

I set my clocks back but my body didn't pay any attention and I got up at 4AM. Oh well, the coffee was ready and my dogs don't seem to mind getting fed early!

This election is getting really ugly. I voted absentee ballot a month ago (I'm permanent absentee). We have a proposition on the ballot here in California, prop 8. If passed, it would make marriage heterosexual only as right now gays can marry here. Down the street, gay couple, No on Prop 8 signs in their yard. Get stolen often, then their car got defaced with spray paint. Not right regardless of how you feel about the proposition. Thank heaven it'll be over in a day or so. Personally, I think both of the "major" party candidates suck. I think most of the USA feels the same. Each election it's not getting to vote for someone you really like, it's who sucks the least (lesser of the two evils). Gawd, I'm starting to sound like my parents!! OK, I'm getting ready for my Thanksgiving trip! That's an American holiday that's in November. We usually get together with our friends out in the desert and everyone brings something for the feast. I'm the turkey/stuffing guy. I cook the turkey by burying it in the sand in hot charcoal for 6+ hours. It's so tender/juicy when I can finally dig it out that I don't need a knife to carve it, just put a fork in the breastbone and pull the meat off! So, with almost 30 people for dinner, the side dishes get pretty inventive! And there's always too much! AND YOU'RE ALL INVITED! [/b]
