Hey Boss, Just got myself a 153k103, any chance you have a video on threading the bobbin/pulling the thread up?
I'm having trouble following the dated manual, thanks

MuddyClearWaters started following Wanted Bell Knife Skiving Machine, 10" wide JD Randall leather Splitter Restored, Cowboy 3200 and and 6 others

JD Randall leather splitter with 10" wide blade. Unit was fully restored by Sheridan leather. Has all new paint and is in really nice condition. Blade is new and razor sharp. We used it for a few special projects and now it's just been sitting because we do not need it anymore. $600.00 but I'm willing to entertain serious offers. Located in Austin Texas. Will ship for $25+ Perfect for someone who makes holsters or wallets who need to split wider pieces of leather.

I do have relatives in Temecula. I could have them pick up from you possibly. Pay cash and they could pack it. Do you have the original boxes for the head? Having the packaging would make it a lot more secure to ship. If not I understand you want to do a local transaction.

I'm interested, Do you still have the packaging? I live in texas and would like to have it shipped.

I'm very interested in leather die cutting machines as a new tool for my work. I have spent a long time just trying to track down names and models or even keywords to search for these types of machines. I've seen a number of models and types in photographs of shoe factory tours. I'm looking for a machine that will punch up to 3oz hide with small single holes or traditional double dot brogue patterns like is put on shoes and boots. I've found a few models ranging from a reasonably priced brand new Italian made machine here http://www.shoemachinery.com/germany/sps/sps-962-s-0i-tcsa-/perforating-punching-for-shoe-uppers/new.7595.detail.html to this lot currently for sale of two PEERLESS 1815 die cutters with a huge collection of heads for 3500.00! I understand these machines are rare I'm wondering if any other members have or have used any kind of machine like this. I'm on the fence about this kind of equipment. For the cost I'll probably be investing some serious capital into my own laser cutter which will make this type of machine totally obsolete.

I'm looking to buy a heavy duty stitcher. We mainly need the machine to sew double layers of 2-3oz and 2oz to 12ounce with 277 thread on both sides. I'm partial to the Cowboy 3200. It's price is good and I don't think I need the capabilities of the 3500 and 4500. I'm very fond of the Singer 7 series machines but The lack of an edge guide and the toothed feed dogs makes me lean towards a new machine. Is anyone looking to sell a cowboy or Cobra machine or any large bobbin machine like a Singer or Puritan they are looking to sell. Carson

I called, I'm in Austin an interested.

I have a Singer 153K104 cylinder arm that I have been using to sew 4-5 ounce with 207 thread. I don't expect to get much more use out of this machine. It's really worn out and won't last through production abuse with the heavier 277. I think it will do for another couple of months. I'm not on the hunt for a flat bed industrial that is a large bobbin capable of sewing 277 / T270 I am willing to spend the money on a modern piece of equipment. As of now I have time though and any suggestion of a machine that is in the used category would be greatly appreciated.

I'm in need of a bell knife skiving machine. I'm primarily interested in good to excellent condition vintage machines. I will need to purchase in about 4 weeks. If you have something for sale please post it here. Must be willing to ship to Texas.

So I recently purchased a singer 153K104. It's seen some serious use and probably a few less than enthusiastic mechanics. I paid a mechanic here in town to replace the timing belt, fix a broken guide part in the vibrating presser foot bar and set the needle timing. I was able to sew for about 20 minutes with 2 layers of 2 ounce chrome and 1" of foam between before shit hit the fan. The hook is grabbing the thread and then instead of passing it over the top of the bobbin and completing the loop, it is becoming wound around bobbin case and then jams between the case and the rotating hook right underneath the beveled top. The bobbin case and assembly itself is very loose and has play vertically as well is in all directions. I've got both the user and parts manual but I'm not seeing a diagram for the removal or tightening the actual bobbin itself. Any help on locating the set screws to remove the play in the bobbin assembly would be greatly appreciated.

Weaving To Panels Together As Part Of A Decorative Seam
MuddyClearWaters replied to MuddyClearWaters's topic in Braiding
I guess what I'm looking for is a "mexican basket weave style look but woven with strips cut from the two sides of the hide that is being woven together. -
This is a pretty vague question. I'm looking for a decorative way to weave two panels of leather together with decorative braid joining the two. If there is a way to do this by cutting connected strips from the panels then weaving them together?
