  1. Had a request for a Glock 30S. Anyone have something for that pistola?
  2. Great! It's on the work list to make!
  3. That is what I'm looking for. I have a Cowboy 3200 now so stitching is a breeze.
  4. I'm actually researching a double mag pouch with just a belt loop on the back - like this one.
  5. Hey y'all! I was watching Bruce Cheaney sewing a dog collar on his Cowboy machine on Youtube last month. After that I could not get that sewing machine out of my head. I tried to find every cheap way possible to attain a machine but soon realized I just needed to buy a real leather sewing machine. I went into the basement and was able to find enough things to sell to buy the Cowboy 3200. I bought it from Neel's Saddlery. Ryan answered all my questions and I bought a package deal that included a pair of single sided feet and the material guide. Here is an unboxing and build on the 3200. I love it so far and learning as I go!
  6. So I recently acquired a Cowboy 3200 sewing machine - super stoked. I decided I needed to make something that I would not want to hand stitch. I found JLS had a journal pattern and I gave it a whirl. This was my first attempt. There are some flaws visually but it's a solid piece that I gave to my wife (I could tell she wanted it).
  7. Alright then, I'll hold out on the Gibson but I neglected to state I have around 20 guitars...I know, I have a problem.
  8. I'm putting together funds for the Cowboy 3200. My current conundrum is do I keep trying sell off hobby stuff I don't need or sell my Gibson guitar and get it over with. I'm ready to have the Cowboy in my shop!
  9. I have a line on a Sailrite Ultrafeed LSZ-1. I make wallets, belts and holsters. Will this machine do that for me?
  10. I keep seeing this in google searches but can't figure what these two stamps are. They are perfect for my style:
  11. I own a slew of swivel knives but I still wish I had one of the fancy Stohlman versions. He is sort of my leather hero and I would love to have one of these in my rack...
  12. I have been doing holsters for other folks and wanted to make something different. I like the tooling pattern on this rig so I thought I would give it a shot. I started at 2 PM and finished at 12 PM.
  13. Those are awesome! Great stitch work as well!
  14. Here are my JLS holsters made from his patterns....
  15. I am always on the lookout for interesting and authentic tooling patterns for my holsters. I have found some, scanned photos of vintage holsters and purchased them with holster patterns. The tooling patterns I'm looking for are like the one on the holster on the cover of packing iron: If you have any links to interesting tooling patterns please post them here. Thanks in advance!
  16. Thanks to Kaul and Lumpen! Here is my latest. It is called "The Texan." https://youtu.be/Xz5jUP6ENzs
  17. It's on ebay right now for that price. I really made it for a local lady but after seeing is she said she needed a strap and snap closure. Too late - HA! If it doesn't sell I'll start using it.
  18. On this piece I first hit it with Neatsfoot oil. The color didn't really change. Then I rubbed on some Fiebings oil Saddle tan. After that dried I applied some Fiebings dark brown antique. I liked how it looked on the tooled part but saddle tan is a little to orange for me. I left the tooled part untouched and carefully hit the non tooled areas will rubbing alcohol. This took off just enough of the saddle tan. I rubbed in some antique one more time because I like how it darkens the leather just a bit. Then I finished off with two coats of Bag Kote. All that seemed to make the tooling pop out. The stitching on the inside really didn't look very good (tan on top of black). I took a small paint brush and hit all the stitches with black Fiebings oil dye. I would take a paper towel and wipe off the excess. My iPhone will fit in this. I made it for a lady that has been asking for a wallet but if she doesn't bite I'll keep it. My only issue is the flower looks like a palm tree to me (loooong stem) and I still don't like how skinny my decorative cuts are. I was going to ask $100 since I have around $35 just in the internals - thoughts on that price?
  19. I have carved at least 3 pieces trying to get my size right but I'm happy how this last one turned out.
  20. I wanted a dual beader for my holsters. Maybe I'll give the ceramic a try.
  21. I have two of the saddle type chairs in my Amazon shopping cart. I need a rail around the bottom. I tend to like to prop up my feet while working.
