  1. Howdy y'all! During my week on spring break, I decided that I was going to get into leatherwork. I was able to complete three of the four projects that I wanted to do, so I feel pretty good about that! Here's what I've managed to create, and I hope to be doing much more and improve my skills in the future. Thanks for looking! 2. Excellent work! I'll definitely need to try this as soon as I get myself a new pair of boots
  3. Howdy! Another (new) leatherworker in the San Antonio area
  4. For any of y'all who might be interested in the finished product, I posted it on the critique my work section http://leatherworker.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=46573

I think that it honestly took me about 4-5 hours to stitch my gunbelt! I wasn't going real slow either, so I'm not sure if I'll get much faster at stitching.

You will get faster for sure. If it makes you feel any better it took me 2 hours to stitch the last belt I made lol

  6. Hopefully I'll be able to wrap up my first leather project today!

  7. My Guardian cost just about half that, and as a college kid, that really hurt my bank account..I'm still feeling it right now, so I'll definitely need a job this summer.
  8. Oh yes, 1911 love is an expensive love..
  9. Well, I'm currently at my work table and half way through stamping the belt. I did put packing tape on the back side to hopefully keep my belt from stretching. Thanks for your input! Depending on how this belt comes out, I may try out your method next time
  10. Thanks! It seems as though I forgot to use the search function to see if anyone before me had the same problem, and sure enough, tool first and assemble later Thanks again for the help! I'll be sure to post pics when it's all done
  11. Howdy! Just a quick questions for anyone who has tooled a gunbelt before. Do you tool the belt, and then glue and sew the two pieces together, or do you glue and sew the belt together and then stamp and tool the belt? Thanks in advance! Alamo
  12. Excellent, thanks for the reply! I'll definitely be swinging down there tomorrow first thing in the morning to grab a set
  13. Thanks a ton for the replies! I think I'll give these a try, and if I'm less than satisfied, I'll return them and get a decent sent from Tandy or FleaBay
  14. STI does make an amazing product! I'll definitely be buying more in the future as my funds allow, but for the time being, I think my Guardian is enough..especially with how expensive they are! I do have a few more different firearms at home, might grab a picture or two of them if ya'll would like a peak
  15. Howdy y'all! I'll be able to get started on my projects in just a few days (finally on spring break!), and one of the tools I would like to purchase are some alphabet stamps. Very recently, I stumbled across this set of stamps online. http://www.harborfreight.com/36-piece-1-4-quarter-inch-steel-letter-number-stamping-set-35121.html Do you think these will work with leather? I would love to use these if they're suitable since they are a great deal cheaper than the Tandy kit. Should I give them a try? I can return these if ya'll aren't too sure about how well these will do the job. Thanks in advance, and I hope to show off my work to ya'll soon! Alamo
  16. Anyone else enjoy owning and using firearms? I bought myself a 21st birthday present this year, and would like to share it will y'all! One of many to come for sure So what firearms are y'all using and enjoying?
  17. Sounds good, keep us updated. I'm interested to see your results!
  18. Placed an order for a custom stamp that is a copy of my father's business logo! Can't wait to make some cool gifts for him to show off at the office :)

  19. Howdy everyone! Managed to pop into the chat room briefly and meet a few of yall, and from what I can tell, it seems as though I'm in the right place! Currently a poor college student who wants to get a little bit deeper into leathercraft, specifically gunbelts and possibly knife sheathes and gun holsters. All my gear (just a few things I've picked up from Tandy) is back at home, so I won't be able to post any projects until spring break rolls around and I'm back at home. Until then, I'll be content with just drooling over everyone else's amazing work. Hope to make leather into a lifetime hobby, and maybe one day get to the same level as everyone here! Alamo
