  1. Eric, thanks for your help. I was planning to use the hide for wallets but its a standard design with no tooling, stamping or moulding. Would you happen to know if the streaks and marks will mellow out over time if its left in its raw state?
  2. Thanks Cyber, I really appreciate your help. I should have done more research before ordering and I'll contact the dealer soon.
  3. It didn't say on the website. I bought this overseas because there's no stock of it here in Australia.
  4. Hi guys, I recently purchased a 2-3 oz Hermann Oak leather and I was really excited to use them because everyone raves on about how good the quality is. I received the leather today and when I unrolled the hide I was surprised to see so many scars, wrinkles and marks which almost leave no clean areas (none big enough for what I intended to use it for). The hide also came in looking pink which is unusual for a new leather. I tried taking pics of the blemishes but its hard to capture on camera but its very obvious to the eye. Is this normal for Hermann Oak leathers? I would greatly appreciate any assistance. Rocky
  5. This is what comes up on my browser too and I'm using firefox. I remember this message popping up on a review website I've been going to for years. I decided to ignore it and I ended up getting a real nasty virus and had to reformat the computer. I'd advise staying away from it until the problem is fixed.
  6. Jim, I really like your work! I'm making a birthday present soon and I'm thinking of getting some to attach onto the zipper handle. I'll shoot you a message soon
  7. Thanks for the tip Paul! I've already purchased what I needed from Panhandle but I'll definitely keep them in mind in the future
  8. Hi Cem, thank you for your help . I ended up ordering from panhandle leather from the states a few days ago. I was looking for a quality veg tan side so Hermann Oak came to my mind first but I would have been happy with Wickett and Craig (I didn't know about NSW leather). I'm planning to use it for an inner of a purse/wallet and I'll be using a 4-5oz for the outer. It's going to have over 10 layers of leather so I thought it's probably best to get something light.
  9. Thanks mate! I actually just got a reply from John today via email.
  10. Thanks for the info . I tried contacting John but I haven't got any reply. If it takes six months to receive an order I think I better wait before they're back on track before ordering from them. I've been trying to get some shells with no luck and was hoping these guys would be able to sell some given their good history.
  11. Well I wouldn't say but I'm guessing the owner is just away for a while. If someone here knows when he would be back it would be great to know
  12. Has anyone recently had any luck contacting Eric Frank from Tannery Row? I sent him an email about a month ago and unfortunately he was out of the office so I directed it to John as suggested by his autoreply but I haven't had any success getting a reply. I've just tried sending him an email again but unfortunately it seems that he's still out of the office. Would someone know another email that I could contact tannery row with? I live in Australia so I would prefer trying to get a hold of online communication before ringing them up. I appreciate any help and thank you for your time, Rocky
  13. Hi guys, I'm new here but I've been doing leathercrafting for about a year now. I'm making a nice wallet for a birthday present and I was wondering if anybody has or could suggest a place to order 2-3 Hermann Oak tooling side in Australia? I've searched for days and contacted several different companies but not many of them have 2-3 oz in stock and the ones that do won't ship overseas. If someone has 2-3oz Hermann Oak or Wickett sides for sale please give me a msg, I'd be very keen to buy. Thank you for your time Rocky
