I am having a hell of a time finding colored thread in 207' 277' or 346. I want red , yellow for sure but would like a place where I can find this stuff. Can anyone help me out. Oh and to be more specific I want bonded nylon( I think, I'm hearing that poly is better. Would love to hear opinions on that.) in one 1 lb or 1/2 lb spools. Another sourcing problem I have is buckle set tips. One of the items I make requires 2 tips but only one buckle and keeper.

Hi everyone, So is the perfect stitch when the knot created by the top thread and the botton thread is located in the middle of the leather you are sewing. That said, if the thickness of the leather you are sewing changes then the resistance changes proportionally both upward and downward so the knot would always end up in the middle of the leather. I have read that tention will have to be changed when you make a large change like from 4 .oz to 9 .oz . This doesn't make sense to me so any feed back would be appreciated. Also if someone has a better way to finish a stitch with out melting it with a lighter and making a mess out of it I would sure like to hear about it. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't know what a plug glue seam is. Can anyone define that for me.
-
Thanks TR are you pulling thread through knotting it then putting the iron on it or just burning on both sides?
-
Burning the ends of thread when I'm done sewing doesn't seem like the cleanest way. What are the best tools to buy and is there an area where you can present you work and have it critiqued by others in an effort to learn. I have many questions like these. Can anyone tell mr what the proper way to submit the questions is?

So I don't even know what I don't know about etiquette in this forum but have really enjoyed the knowledge u folks have been so generous with and hope to learn from you all in the years to come. I am hopelessly addicted to this craft. I make and sell holsters, and the usual but probably specialize in custom Guitar straps for fellow players. Look forward to visiting with you folks.

Anyone done the ISW holster in the May/June journal? Seems like some things are missing.

I finished mine as we'll. I did the same recess with my slap too. Really came out nice and I was going to attach some pics but after seeing Deadlances I won't be doing that. That thing is beautiful man. Mine is nice but nowhere as we'll organized . Nice!

Card Holder With Money Clip

Nice job. Just made one similar for a young man who just returned fro Irak. I'm unhappy with the clip. Where did u get the one u used. -
I recently went to my local grave marker guy who had quoted me $175 for a 3 inch slab. This time it was the grave marker gal who gave me a grave marker for 75 bucks because it was ugly. She told me that when they get them they have to be to a certain quality or they just throw them in their bone yard. No pun intended. So if ygour ever looking for a new slab and don't mind that all the colors aren't perfect, ....we'll it saved me a $100 bucks and she told me it's not uncommon. I also acquired some rivets, snaps, and misc supplies from some one who was into leather many years ago. What I noticed was that they were of a much higher quality than what I have been buying from most of the vendors I know that are.available today. I would gladly pay more for this type of quality if I could find them. Are they out there anywhere?
