  1. I’m trying to cut up boxes and these 2 fools keep getting in the mix.
  2. Thanks for these exercises. First thing is that I needed to figure out what convex and concave meant but now I’m good.
  3. Thank you for the exercises. I grabbed a box and starting practicing earlier today.
  4. Thanks for the tip. I never thought to use cardboard and to take the thread out. I was just basically paying for my education. thanks tj
  5. So I got a sewing machine a few weeks ago and have been messing around with just learning the basics of my machine and in that time, Ive realized that i suck a sewing around corners. So I’ve been coming up with practice exercises. Basically following the lines with my machine. I traced some quarters to practice circles. Obviously I’m terrible at sewing and have a ton of practice ahead of me but does anyone have any tricks or exercises that they use to practice sewing?
  6. So this is what I was able to do with 60 grit belt. I sanded the top and flesh side slowly flat on the table. The I sanded the flesh side against the belt and finished up by sanding the edge. I’m gonna grab lower grit belts tomorrow.
  7. Thank you Dwight. My belt is an 80 grit b/c that’s what it came with. I’m gonna do all your suggestions and we shall see.
  8. I recently picked up a bench mounted belt sander for cleaning up my work. It seems like I’m making more dust then actually making my work look better. What grit belt do I use? Also do I apply pressure? I’ve been putting my leather on the table and moving it back and forth. I’ve been working with 3 layers on 2-3oz chrome tan leather. Thanks tj
  9. Thank you. I followed the video and now she’s sewing great.
  10. Thanks kgg. I found her video this morning and it solved my problem. I did watch from the beginning.
  11. I tried to follow the manual but the instructions suck.
  12. Here’s a video of it happening. IMG_6701.mov
  13. My thread keeps jumping out of this tension spring. Do I need to rotate it down to keep the thread in? Also do I remove this wool like material from this thread guide? thanksr tj
  14. Hey everyone, I have a cb341 that has a presser foot like the one in the picture. I like to guide off the presser foot when stitching but I like to use the left side better than the right. Do they offer a presser foot that has the needle centered. My apologies if I got the terminology wrong. i guess option 2 would be to get another presser foot and modify it with a grinder. Would there be any drawbacks to that?
  15. How much is the skiver? Do u have any pics? thanks tj
  16. What presser feet do you guys find useful?
  17. So I’m gonna assume this is the brake and adjuster.
  18. I may need to adjust my clutch brake b/c I barely have to tuck the gas and it’s moving. It’s a fine line between releasing the brake and the machine stitching.
  19. That’s a good point. What about different hopper feet? Would a zipper foot make zippers easier to stitch? sorry for all the questions.
  20. Do u guys take the brake out of your servos? Mine has a brushed motor and I saw an article about different motors. The article mentioned taking the brake out. is there a reason why I wouldn’t want to do that?
  21. Thank you everyone for your advice. I’m very new to machine sewing but eager to learn.
  22. I’m using 92 thread and needles and I’m not sure what needles I got when I bought the machine.
  23. Thank you for the advice. I’m gonna experiment with tensions and see what I get. My girlfriend has 3 long arm quilt machines and we’ve been feeling with tension for years.
  24. Are these skipped stitches or are they loose? I’m not sure how to fix it.
  25. Thanks bob. I’ll play with it more when I get home. It’s a great machine.
